Given that it's given that we'll be given this match up safter Overeem kills Brock in 30 seconds how do you think the fight goes? It will be the highest level of a stand up heavyweight fight in ufc history. Never mind should be it will be guaranteed fireworks. JDS KO1. Iron chin prevails.
i think JDS knocks him the f out. still, probably the most intriguing heavyweight bout in the history of ufc. i'm never truly shocked by any outcome in mma.
I very much agree with points 1 and 3. I'd confidently pick JDS, and also I am never shocked anymore by MMA. I feel I kind of suck at picking fights in MMA compared to boxing, where I'm very solid at picking fights, but I think part of that is MMA is just so damn unpredictable. Point 2, I find even Brock Vs Overeem more intriguing. A true pick em fight, due to the drastically different styles and strengths.
No one in the HW division has "vastly superior" stand up to JDS. Well, if you eliminate chin, defense and stamina from the equation then MAYBE Overeem has superior stand up. So , if we were judging stand-up on simply technique in hitting a heavy bag and NOT in an actually MMA fight, you might be right. Unfortunately I too clearly remember Overeem's fights with Liddell and Kharitonov II wherein fatigue made his stand up look ordinary.
Minus all the falling and flopping around which made it look like Overeem was actually dropping Werdum, Werdum actually and quite easily out punched Overeem. Overeem's stand up is vastly overrated and he himself is vastly overrated as a mma fighter. Don't get me wrong he still waxes Lesnar in 30 seconds or less but JDS is no Lesnar. JDS is your current and forever heavyweight fucking champion.
yeah great point, the guy was 23 years old , and a stringbean, when this fight happened, it is highly relevant to the current situation
You'd have a point if THAT same version of Overeem didn't suddenly appear in his rematch with Kharitonov. The dude tires quickly and when he does, his technique looks sloppy and shitty. Period.
These are just two huge dudes. By the way, Nate Diaz missed weight initially and had to burn off an additional pound. He made it on the 2nd try. To Cerrone's credit, he said "I don't give a f$%$. Let's just do this." I cannot wait for this fight.
