Well, he has fully returned to his previous M.O. of feasting on overmatched opponents. After 2 painful years of fighting some decent fighters, Fedor will follow up his easy bout against Jeff Monson by fighting Japanese Judo Olympic gold medalist, Satoshi Ishii.

Yep, Ishii, a veteran of a whopping 6 MMA fights with zero striking, is set to fight the great Fedor on New Year's Eve.

Remember when we couldn't wait to see him matched with Cain and Brock? I wonder if a rematch with Hong Man Choi is on tap for next year.

    :lol::lol::lol:

New Years Eve fights are always easy fights. They are never serious. Last time Fedor fought in New Years Eve he fought Hong man choi.

    These fights dont mean shit.

Really? He also fought Big Nog and Mark Hunt on New Year's eve. You can't tell me that didn't mean shit especially the Nogueira fight.

My guess is he's taking a few soft touches to build up his confidence. Either that or he's milking his legacy for cash.

Those were the pride days tho. If this is the dream card, they have always been bullshit. The fighters find out last minute who they are fighting and it's always some 5 hour bullshit that starts at 2 in the morning over here. I always have to clear out all my DVR shit to record it and i fastforward through most of it.

Just for the sake of information, this actually could be a pretty cool card. Aoki gets a pretty good test in Kitaoka for Aoki's DREAM belt. Also, as a sideshow attraction, Tim Sylvia is supposed to face Brett Rogers.

The thing I am most looking forward to is the semi-final and finals of the Bantamweight Tourney. I love it when they hold those the same night.

All in all it's worth watching.

Good choice. You people need to let it go. Fedor is a musketeer in an age of navy seals. Leave him alone.

I will bet money that Brett Rogers will become an enormous star in Japan. He will take over Sapp's place. He will have a huge KO over Tim, and then they will just set him up with freak show matches. Could be a good move financially for Rogers:cheers:

I felt bad since I didn't post on the board for like a month after the bet because of my son's football team. Now football is over, I kind of feel like I should have to punish myself for a full month of posting. NEVER SAY NEVER!!!!!

Hey, Z, we went into your backyard and whuped that ass! We beat the Bay City Bulldogs(bay area Div III champs) 26-14.

Fedors been done as a top fighter let it go Trp ,you act like you been waiting his whole career to finally fall off lol.At this point if he's in it for the money then let be in it for the money,he's earned the right to do so....also remember, mma fighters dont get paid like most pro athletes so expect fighters that are past there prime to fight longer than they should.

    Dream NYE spoiler

Fedor just annhilated Ishii, as in the Monson fight, was far more patient than he was in his sf fights. he definitvely should be in the UFC imo as he still is a top hw

This was an easy fight anyways. This wasn't suppose to be difficult. Fedor beat this chump like he was the nobody he was. Dream fights like this are always just bullshit thrown together at the last minute.

No way. Barnett isnt even in the UFC, why should Fedor be? Silva isnt in the UFC, why should Fedor be? I think Fedor is shot and he needs to just stay active and fight guys around the globe for money. If he isnt shot, he needs to show ALOT more than those two fights. Especially this last one, which was basically a bullshit fight from the beginning.

WHile Ishii is far from being a top fighter, he's still a olypic judo gold medalist who never really lost ( the Yoshida fight was his pro debut and could have gone either way from what I heard ) before today. He may not be as bad as Fedor made him looked

I think before he goes into the UFC, he needs to try and get back into strikeforce. Beat the guys that beat him.

If he can get passed werdum, Silva, Cromier & barnett, than let him back in. But i doubt he gets passed them. Maybe werdum, but that is about it.

Well, I just watched Ishii draw vs Fihlo, and while he probably deserved the win, you'd never knew Ishii was a judo gold medalist by wathching this garbage

Oh boy... And Godfather said these New Year's Eve Dream fights were a joke.

What he didn't realize is that I was right and there would be those fans that immediately proclaim "FEDOR IS BACK" because he beats an absolute newbie.

    Amazing.

By the way Anthony or Azazel, how did Aoki look in his bout?

My DVR didn't record the event. I'll get it later but am curious.
