If nothing, Ike had a solid chin. He took some fucking hard punches to the head from Tua. But George would bomb him out eventually.
Tua stunned him once as best I can remember, with a left-hook. After that, Ike's right glove never moved from his ear except when he was throwing it. One of the most amazing things about that fight was the not the total number of punches thrown, but the number that Tua by himself managed to throw. If you consider the Tua who fought in the 2000's (not the 90's) and how inactive he was, it's amazing he was involved ever in such a fight as his with Ibeabuchi. Did anyone see Tua's fight in August with Monte Barrett? In which he lost a 12 round decision? What was the last meaningful win Tua has recorded?
Ike takes him out in 7 in a war. Ike is a volume power puncher with incredible stamina and chin. Foreman simply wouldn't keep up.
Thats what happens when you're mentally ill enough to stand in a phone box and let Tua keep his feet set under him for nearly 36m.
:: Given that he managed to win, and that it made for a very entertaining and memorable fight, it's hard to criticize his strategy. But it did seem like a hard way to go. But in the 2000's, even given the opportunity, Tua never would've thrown that many punches. His muscle building campaign clearly robbed him of his stamina.
Wow has Ike been overrated. He went to war with a fighter who is as easy to outbox as a heavy bag, and his best win is Chris Turd, who he just happened to catch with a big shot. Now he beats George?? George TKO 8
The safe MM pick is George by KO. But truthfully we've never seen ike stopped or badly hurt or even wobbled. We can't predict that Foreman knocks him out just based on the fact that his name is George Foreman. Unfortuntely we don't have enoough information to actually make a pick.
This excellent point was already brought up in this thread by the knowledgeable UGBK, but thank you for your output
My bad. Congratulations on being the first one to bring up this irrefutable point. Glad to see that I'm not the only thinking man on here.
Since none of these so called mythical match-ups have ever taken place, this is true for every single one, to varying degrees. The point is to render a judgement (take a position), given what you "do" know.
Yes...but in most cases we have enough information to make a reasoned case. In this case we don't....in fact we certainly don't have enough information to say that Foreman knocks him out early or otherwise. Foreman may be "FOREMAN" and Ibeabuchi may be "Ibeabullshit" (copywright Ramonza 2012)...but that in itself doesn't consititute a Foreman KO 5 pick.
We NEVER Saw how Ike Dealt w/SIZE or a Good JAB, Both of Which Foreman Possessed... Would Be VERY Interesting to See Which Man FORCED the Other on his Back Foot...w/Sooooooo Many UNANSWERED Questions about Ike, Foreman's the SAFE Pick...REED Thinks he'd Keep Ike on the End of the Jab, Push Ike Off If/When he Got Inside AND Earn Ike's Respect w/his Power... Foreman UD... There'd Be Some HEAVY Ass Leather Being Landed Though... REED:shadow:
