For this thread, I'll list a fighter, and the poster below me will state whether he is overrated or underrated, and then he''ll list a fighter, then the poster below him states whether he's overrated or underrated, etc. EDIT: Or you can take the stance of "He's rated correctly" First boxer: Sergio Martinez
Correctly. If we're not limited to current boxers, I'll submit Kostya Tszyu. If we are, Mikkel Kessler.
Tszyu overrated. Kessler overrated. If we are not limited to current boxers I'll submit Jack Dempsey if we are Victor Ortiz and if we're not limited to male boxers I'll submit Chrisy Martin but if we are I'll submit Ann Wolfe.
If we're talking about fightbeat I think just about everybody israted correctly right now. Except some still underrate Nonito.
Pavlik is under-rated at this point. His future status is in doubt due to his alcoholism. But based on what he's done in the ring, he's been under-rated. Two losses to two p4p fighters, one of which he was very competitive against, and the lack of any recent meaningful wins have led people to underestimate him.
That's the price you pay when you fight a bunch of meaningless fights. He may be underrated, but justifiably so. I guess it comes down to the purpose and meaning of the terms, underrated and overrated.
Tough one. I'd say he's rated about right, although you could argue he's slightly underrated. Jean Pascal
How's he one dimensional? Spare me. You don't know shit about boxing. So Martinez nearly lost to a one dimensional fighter? I don't understand it. You hold up Hopkins' win over Pavlik like it matters, but turn around and claim that Pavlik was shit.
