So a three hour film that is "great" for 45 minutes is a "GREAT" movie???

    you have low standards

And what is so great about it, this hitting the iceberg, that makes you want to watch it more than once?

you have to X-out those 10-15 minutes were SHE is looking for him after he was arrested/detain... :boohoo: then again later they end up in the lower levels with the crying kid...or is that the same scene after he was arrest? I don't know......then the everything after the the ship sinks is garbage...

No, it wasnt sad. You have to build an emotional connection with the character in order for it to be sad. Personally, I didnt give a shit about Gwen Paltrow getting her head sliced off. It was a surprise ending, but not a SAD one at all.

Two movie that hasnt been mentioned yet: Mask & The Elephant Man.

Hell, or even the end of Tombstone, when Doc Holiday died.

It wasn't sad...FOR YOU...and that's fine, but the idea that it could be sad for someone isn't laughable. It was a tragic ending.

For example, I didn't think Green Mile ending was sad AT ALL, but I can understand why some would think it was.

But there WAS a Connection Made w/Brad Pitt's Character, & the Few Times Gweneth was in the Flick, it was APPARENT that Pitt's Character ADORED her...Even Morgan Freeman's Character (Who was Playing the JADED, SEASONED, Veteran Cop) Grew to Really LIKE Paltrow's Character...

So, While the Viewing Audience May or May Not have Connected w/Paltrow's Character, the Viewing Audience Connected w/the Central Participants (Pitt & Freeman), who DEFINITELY Connected w/Paltrow...Call it a Connection by PROXY, if U Will...

The Closing Scene of "Se7en" was Sooooo POWERFUL, Soooooo SAD that they Didn't even have to Show Paltrow's Severed Head in the Box...The INSINUATION of it was More than Enough...Freeman's REACTION to Seeing the Head ("John Doe has WON!!"), Coupled w/Pitt's Heartfelt RESPONSE was Definitely SAD to REED...

Pitt Learns that his BEHEADED Wife was PREGGO & Then he Does EXACTLY what John Doe Wants him To All Along, by OFFing him...SAD Shit, Bruh...

It Wasn't TEAR JERKY Sad, but U Had to Feel AWFUL for Pitt's Character...N that Sense it was SAD as Shit...John Doe Beheads his Pregnant Wife and MANIPULATES Pitt Into Doing PRECISELY What he Wants him to Do...In 1 Fell Swoop, Pitt was HEARTBROKEN & MINDFUCKED...

If they Did a Sequel to "Se7en", Pitt's Character would B INSTITUTIONALIZED...

I always thought a better ending wouldve been for Pitt to beat on John Doe viciously and animalistically first (WTF was with him just dispassionately shooting the guy), then pistol whip him and shoot him in painful places (balls, kneecaps, end with a die-slow gutshot), and THEN.. blow his own brains out, making John Doe's plan a perfect one (wrath dies in the end). Though it could be said that Pitt's fate is worse than death (cop going to prison, eternal memory of losing wife and unborn child), that just begs the question once more of why he didn't kill himself.

Also, Brad Pitt was annoying as fuck in that movie, he almost completely ruined it. His ugly ass gf sucked too. Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey were good, though

Sure, if Pitt had Time to THINK, that'd have Been a Better Way of Dealing w/John Doe...But it was All Spur of the Moment AND Pitt Already had his Gun Drawn on Doe Anyways, if REED's Not Mistaken...

    word.

Morgan Freeman's reaction to the opened box was unforgettable. You knew right then and there that some serious shit had gone down.

    Sad ending.

word. Gun was already drawn. No time to think in that situation. It's kill or not. Most of use would have killed too...especially with Morgan Freeman close by who would have stopped him from brutalizing/torturing him. Personally I would like to think that I would have merely shot off his arms and then dug out his eyes with my pocket knife...but then again in the spur of the moment when you're in deep shock and grief you don't think of these types of thoughts....
