Pacquiao: 50/50 is reasonable By Nick Giongco Photo: Chris Farina/Top Rank Manny Pacquiao told Fightnews and Manila Bulletin on Wednesday that he has turned down Floyd Mayweather’s newest proposal, an offer that the Filipino ring hero found to be ridiculous. Pacquiao said Mayweather continues to insist on getting the lion’s share of the revenue but he immediately expressed his disapproval, putting negotiations in danger of collapsing completely. Mayweather had called on Pacquiao last week and urged him to fight him. Pacquiao said it is just right that they equally share the revenue, something that did not augur well with Mayweather. Reports have it that Mayweather is now willing to make it 60-40. Still, Pacquiao is not impressed and might very well explore other possibilities, including a rematch with Miguel Cotto on June 9. “I still believe that I am being reasonable in asking for 50/50,†said Pacquiao. FLoyd was asking for 70/30 now he apparently budges to 60/40. If this doesn't prove he wants the fight nothing will.
It's quite obvious which one is scared. Hell don't even look at the fighters themselves. Look at their trainers, which one is shaking in their boots ?
Does anyone remember how long this fight is in the making ? I mean how long has it been since people started looking at it as a possible reality?
Mayweather is the one being the bitch, period. First it was olympic drug testing, now it is an inreasonable portion of the purse. If he really wants the fight, he woukd split it 50/50 with no stipulations.

Never would happen. Having the winner get paid more sounds like a good idea in general. (not just for this fight) However with all of the shitty ways a fight can end it's understandable why boxers wouldn't accept it. Imagine a robbery type decision loss. It would mean you got fucked twice.
It's exactly what Floyd is asking for. Except he thinks it's a given he'll win and he just wants his 60 up front.
If there is a robbery in the UFC they still pay the winning bonus to the "loser" UFC is run A LOT better than boxing ever will be. A LOT better.
How in the hell is this proof? It proves nothing because 60/40 is only a little less unreasonable than 70/30. 70/30 indicates no intention of fighting. 60/40 indicates a general obsession with having the upper hand. Neither one gets the fight made. And PBF knows it.
You can't compare the two? It depends on the point of the comparison. If nothing else, the comparison is useful to expose one advantage of the UFC's organization, which is that its executive powers are far more reaching.
