I will give Floyd some credit if he fights Cotto. Will you?

I hope Cotto doesn't go in there like Gatti, thinking he can out-fox PBF. Clearly, Cotto's going to have to be physical and aggressive. I think if he puts on a performance like he did against Mosley, he can make it competitive.

If Floyd and Pac aren't going to fight, this is the next best thing. I didn't want to see Pac vs Cotto 2 and now this basically leaves Manny with Bradley which I think is a good fight. Hopefully Floyd vs Cotto is at 154, it will be more of a challenge for Mayweather at that weight.

Cotto is patient, short, and slowish.

I think he stands no more chance of beating Floyd than he did Manny, or even being competitive.

This is still better than Manny Vs Cotto 2, because we haven't seen it, and hopefully Manny Vs Bradley comes off as a result.

If this fight happens I think Cotto should try and BOX PBF. Miguel is a very good boxer and I cant remember anyone trying to play Chess with Mayweather. Pressuring Floyd will play right into his hands IMO. It's a hell of a risk but Cotto has never been out boxed before.

Oh Lord what a wonderful gift that would be. Cotto beats Mayweather, then PBF heads off to jail to rot, hopefully slowly relegated to Zab-Judahesque status when he comes back out, "re-starting" his career now that he has learned from his defeat and grown as a person.

Meanwhile Pac retires stating Floyd lost to his "leftovers".

I would have to pick Floyd by UD but I like Cotto's chances if indeed this is at 154.

    The worst possible strategy.

Someone taller with a jab could outbox Floyd, as Oscar alluded to.

Other than that, it's intelligent pressure that gives Floyd trouble, like the Castillo fight, thoughtful pressure, working behind a jab etc.

Even very basic pressure fighters like Chavez and Hernandez had more success against Floyd than most "boxers" do.

WTF, that completely contradicts your idea that Cotto should play chess with Floyd and box with him

Good point. I just dont see Cotto beating Mayweather with Pressure. Cotto has transitioned more into a boxer as of late. Unless Miguel brings back the patent left hook to the body I dont see how he can win with pressure.

Well I kind of agree with you, and unfortunately it's simply that Cotto doesn't have the style to beat Floyd or even trouble him much. He's always had a counterpuncher mentality, even early in his career. More comfortable boxing and waiting for openings than pressuring and forcing openings.

Another opportunist fight by Mayweather....He should have fought Cotto 3-4 years ago...but nevertheless a good fight...and the best fight for MAYWEATHER...if Pacquiao doesn't want to dance.

Mayweather really making Pacquiao look bad here IMO....another fighter that agrees to the olympic style drug testing...and Mayweather doesn't ask him to weaken himself coming down to a catchweight...

I'm with you. Anything but Pacquiao is inexcusable. So no credit. Having said that, I'd rather see him face Cotto than Guerrero or Canelo.

Unless there's recent news that PBF has agreed to 50/50, I don't know how it's fair to say Pacquiao doesn't want to dance, when PBF is the one with unreasonable demands.

    <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">Pre & post fight interviews are always so unpredictable..

I'll look forward to the post-fight interview, where Cotto, when asked who is better out of Pac & PBF says (if PBF beats him more convicingly than Manny), that Manny's is better, or (if Floyd beats him less convincingly), says that Floyd's the best of the two.

Good point. Let's hope having beaten PBF, Cotto has the balls to say that PBF is better than Pacquiao. Under those circumstances, I'd have no problem hearing him spout obvious bull-shit.

I don't expect Cotto to win. And am not picking him to win. But I sure's hell hope he wins.

Cotto's got enough beatings under his belt to be attractive for Floyd.

Well with Mayweather vs. Cotto and probably Pacquiao vs. Bradley....things could have been a whole lot worst...

    Decent fight IMO.

I still hope it does disappointing PPV numbers. The same for Pacquiao-Bradley.

I would be great if both Pac and PBF lose there next fight. A double upset would stir shit up for sure.

I still think it's a decent fight, but you now have to deal with the same shit you guys dish out when it applies to Manny.

It's manny's leftovers, no matter how you look at it.

People act like Manny is the GOAT for beating Floyds leftovers.
