This is a far more competitive matchup than Martinez vs Leonard.

Would Nando's strength and technical ability win out, or would Martinez's handspeed be too much and Nando walks into something he never sees?

I'll go with Vargas as well. A lot of the little things Macklin did that gave him success Nando could certainly improve on. There's still a good chance Martinez could land some "laser" shot down the pipe Vargas doesn't see. That's not to say Sergio only has a puncher's chance though. The styles mesh well and Martinez would have plenty of countering opportunities.

Although Vargas had a reputation as a hot-head he was fairly calm and intelligent in the ring. I think he survives a few scares and wins a close but well earned points win.

Yeah. Vargas was actually a pretty good fighter. It's a tough sell because it's fashionable these days to say Tito could never fight.

Vargas was a moron who was handled by Winky Wright. This notion of him as some sort of cold-assassin is nonsense- he rushed out and made elementary mistakes in the Trinidad fight, including getting up too fast and not taking 5 minutes when Trinidad balled him.

He only came back into the fight relative to how far he had been knocked out of it. Much like Macklin, he had a fatal flaw of not really being able to adjust once things started to slip away from him- once his aggressive, roided-up approach didn't work with Oscar, he got worn down and stopped. Same with Trinidad, once he got tired and had done his best, he got worn down and stopped.

He struck me as being an ignorant, emotive sort of fighter who hung around with ignorant, emotive kinds of people. Its no surprise that the Roberto Garcia and Brandon Rios have picked up where he left off.

He didn't like fast fighters who could make him hold his hands back. He never beat any really really good black fighters either. What are his best wins? Campas? Raul Marquez? Shit, Raul Marquez is Campas best win. Martinez is left-handed, fast, powerful, a guy who could hack it at 160. I fancy his chances here by late stoppage.

Sergio Pussy has a knockout ration SLIGHTLY MORE THAN 50% He is not a fucking puncher. One fluke kayo over Paul Williams does not make a puncher neither are his kayo victories over EUROSCRUBS. Vargas wins by knockout.

Winky Wright hardly "handled" Vargas. If you think he won the fight i have no issue with that. Many think Winky won it. I scored it 6 rounds each. Either way it was close. Nando also beat Ike Quartey in an excellent and underrated fight.

Winky won that fight pretty clearly. Btw, Lincoln City is a cool little city in the center of Oregon. It is awesome.
