Assuming Pav is off the PBR, how does he fare against the Trinidad who beat Joppy because of the ring?
Trinidad by KO 9 Only way I could imagine Pavlik winning is by KO very early...and I don't think he has the power to KO Trinidad, he has the power to HURT and DROP Trinidad, but when Trinidad get up, he doesn't have what it takes to finish him...in fact once Trinidad is down...and there is a lot of time on the clock Pavlik will get punch happy and probably walk into something.

I can't see Pavlik losing this one. Pavlik is always in any fight where he does't have to go looking for the opponent. Who were the guys that Trinidad beat? David Reid- small and vulnerable. Yory Boy Campas- slow and small. Nominal reach. Vargas- good, and prime, but nowhere near the size or power of Pavlik. Pavlik is 6'2", cracks like hell, and wouldn't be facing a guy with fast feet or subtle skills. Trinidad got dropped by a lot of guys, getting dropped by Pavlik has a whole new meaning.
I've ALWAYS said Trinidad in this matchup, and I'm sticking to it. Pavlik was plain and simple too hittable to beat Tito.
Tito was, plain and simple, too small and hittable to beat Pavlik. Pavlik was limited, but way more of a force than the likes of Joppy. He's a big middleweight with a punch, good range, and he used to have a decent jab and workrate. I'd be fairly confident in picking him over Tito actually, though overall Trinidad is a better fighter, Pavilk is a better middleweight.
Who did Trinidad ever beat at 160lb? Mayorga? Joppy? Come on now, Pavlik goes through Trinidad like a knife through buttah. :scared:
He has 3 wins at middleweight, Joppy, Mayorga, and Cherifi :: People picking Tito is wishful thinking, and partly because now Pavlik's career has taken a MASSIVE nosedive, people are forgetting that he was actually highly regarded after beating Taylor twice. No one would be picking Trinidad if this had been posted back then. In a fight like this where both fighters are there to be hit and thrive on a guy standing in front of them, I'll take the bigger, rangier, natural middleweight all day. There's no way Trinidad would be able to take those big right hands from Pavlik and outgun him with his own left hook. Pavlik's jab would do pretty well against Tito too, and stop him from setting his big floppy legs to launch his anvil hook.

Great point. Tito has so many dimensions. ::::I forgot about Tito's wonderful defense. The face block should be used by younger fighters today. Pavlik kills him even the Pavlik, the drunk hungover one who lost to Martinez would likely knock Tito out. 100% CHANCE HE WINS EVERY FUCKING ROUND.
