  2. They seem to have a genuine like and respect for one another.

Nevertheless, I'm hyped for this fight.

I hope Cotto BRINGS IT and doesn't just come to stink out the joint. I know Floyd's gonna bring it. If Cotto comes in to FIGHT this could be FOTY

When does Cotto ever bring the stink? Cotto always comes to win.

I'm also hyped for this fight. I just want to see a good competitive fight. Hopefully Cotto is good enough to challenge Floyd.

I just want to see Floyd in a real fight, something we have not seen since Castillo. Cotto should be looking at those fights. People claim that pressure is not the way to beat Floyd, but I dissagree. Castillo had the most success and he is a pressure fighter.

If I remember right, I had Judah up 4-0 when he fought Mayweather.

Cotto will come to fight. I can 't wait for this :bears:

  8. AgREED.
But I think you off the mark even thinking Cotto will just 'turn up' - has he ever done?

I can tell by this clip that Cotto is a totally reinvigorated MATURE LION and he is going to come to GET HIS!!!!!!!!!

that said... FLoyd is gonna rape him dry

Judah is a good fighter for about 4 rounds.

You guys seriously get hyped? I don't get it. I know Cotto will come to fight, and I also know he has no shot in hell. Floyd will counter him silly, probably stop him late after a very one-sided fight and thus make Sly fill the whole first page with new Floyd threads. I could wait for that to happen

    don't misunderestimate the renewed LION

Still a real fight. So was Hatton.

looks like floyd's gonna have to carry another 24/7 series.

  16. If Cotto brings the "pressure" it will be a very exciting brutal beatdown in favour of Floyd....and would make Floyd look like Superman because Cotto wouldn't last 8 rounds.

    Cotto talks like Tony Montanna.

  19. Some of you act as though there is no precedent for Cotto fighting to survive.

Not saying that he runs away and intends to lose....just saying that he's shown the tendency to fight with minimal risk to himself (like Floyd has done many times before).

Look at the latter half of the Mosley fight as well as the recent fight with Margarito. Cotto has the skills to stay on his feet and keep moving and boxing instead of just bringing the heat.

    that's what I'm talking about.
I hope he doesn't fight Floyd in that manner but i suspect that he will. I'm hoping that he thinks that he's stronger than Floyd and that his only chance at victory is to bring to fight to Mayweather.

If he does THIS...Floyd takes him out in 8 rounds MAX. No way does Fragile Cotto stand toe to toe with Floyd (who's still defensively sound, in a toe to toe battle) and survive. No way.

I disagree. Zab Judah lasted more then 8 rounds. Lets get real here. Even Hatton lasted longer and Cotto is a better fighter.

Judah and Hatton both got dominated. There is a better case to be made that the Oscar fight was a "real fight"

What exactly do you base this on? When has Floyd looked like superman against someone as good as Cotto?

  23. LOK

Cotto is gonna get dominated and so will bitch ass PACman if he ever fights

Floyd wins comfortably. I like Cotto but he just isn't good enough, I don't even see him being that competitive. I agree with Sly too that he has shown a tendency to "quit without quitting" before. He just gives up trying to win.

Also, I don't know why it annoys me so much, but whenever Floyd uses that "42 have tried, 42 have failed" line it does my head in. I know it's more effort and incredibly pedantic to say "41 have tried, 41 have failed...and one guy failed twice", but fuck man, just stop saying it!

Judah was a much tougher fight for Floyd.

Judah was up 4-0 and Hatton won some rounds. You're my boy Z, but you think with your cock too much.

Floyd was never in danger of losing those fights, by the midway point he had taken over and was schooling both those guys. All I'm saying is I want to see Floyd have to dig deep to win for once.

  28. Zab Judah made Mayweather hesitant and tentative and with good reason.........Zab was lighting fast and with WICKED power at the end of that speed. Plus Zab was southpaw and that messes up the best of them. Cotto is Orthodox, hittable, bruisable (made up the word), vulnerable. Floyd stops Cotto in the middle rounds if it's toe to toe...Sig bet with ANYONE here.

I'd be pretty disappointed if Cotto lasted the distance.

There's no reason why Floyd SHOULDN'T stop him.

don't give yourself too much credit now:

    bruisable

    Capable of being bruised; friable.

    Examples

    • “Blistering and skinning them of their bruisable rind, exposing a seedless kernel.â€￾
    • “Teachers are are infact human beings though with bruisable egos so lots o' diplomatic gymnastics might be in order.â€￾
