Well to be honest I am joking but what do you think the card will end up looking at ? I think it will be JDS vs Mir (No way Cain is getting a shot after being taken out in a minute) Cain vs Travis Browne (It's not about deservinbg this fight it's about being in a good place at a good time and funny enough just two days ago I read an interview with Browne saying he's in shape and ready to step in at ufc 146 if needed to. Ideally I would LOVE to see Carwin vs Cain and I think Carwin would knock him out but I think Carwin is still injured? Rehabing?) The rest of the card will stay the same.
Bring in Hunt to fill the void but shuffle the card so he's not getting a title shot. Mir vs JDS Cain vs Bigfoot Nelson vs Hunt
Bring in Hunt? Hunt already is on the card fighting Struve! And Dana just said on tweeter that Mir vs Cain is going down as planned. So who is JDS fighting ? Or is he off the card ??? Some rumors about Hendo but that would be a massacare. Just give JDS a tune up fight. Give him Travis Browne and let JDS look good killing him.
JDS can't draw. They'll need a star to help sell this event. Overeem is gone. Nobody gives a sh*t about Mir or the other hacks in the division.
The event was sh*t. That's what matters. Rating is irrelevant. When new fans saw that event, they tuned out just as quickly. Proof is in the pudding. The UFC has not brought in any new fans since then. The just lost their biggest star in Lesnar. PPV buys for the last 3 UFC events are on par with WWE which is also sh*t right now on average. I guess that's expected when a champion can't hold onto a title in his first title defense.
I have zero idea about the WWE but UFC 144 did a reported 375K buys while UFC 143 did a reported 400K buys. And neither event had any of the UFC's big 4 draws (Lesnar, Silva, Jones, GSP). Hell, 143 didn't even involve a real championship fight and still did 400k buys. Those are solid numbers. And I think Jones-Evans will do better than 500K. Given the watered down nature of recent UFC events, these are amazing PPV numbers in my opinion. If you look at 145, it's a shallow card with only the main event involving mainstream guys. If it does 500k buys or better, it probably points to Jones being close to taking over as the biggest draw in the sport.
LOL... Event? The FOX show was one fight. The 'event' itself was a great. It included one of the fights of the year with Guida-Henderson. Try watching before writing. It could help you look LESS uninformed.
I don't know if 300-400k buys is what Dana White and the Fertittas are looking for. Especially at this stage where they've been the forefront of MMA since late 2005. For the UFC, these are mediocre numbers for what's considered the fastest growing sport. Also notice Dana White isn't as brash or as loud about the UFC as he used to be? He's noticing just like Vince McMahon that the UFC can't flourish without a good amount of star power. The loss of Lesnar didn't help business. And now with Overeems's drug test failure, that's another blotch for the star power. JDS doesn't even have an opponent and last I saw, nobody pays to see Frank Mir fight. That's basically their last resort.
Fox viewers didn't see that fight. It was not aired on Fox. Dana White even admitted that Fox f*cked up big time by not showing that fight. And the heavyweight fight was a major disappointment. The reigning champ got flattened by a half assed roundhouse right hand which even Butterbean could see coming. Poor delivery and slow but it was still too much for the world champion.:dunno: And then Dana goes into the booth, calls JDS basically a bum with no cardio and berates both him and Cain LIVE on Fox TV. LOL!
400 PPV buys when you have 20-30 events or more annually isn't too shabby especially when you have the bigger Silva, GSP and Jon Jones PPV numbers sprinkled in. Quick question for you to see if you're paying attention. Do you think the UFC sold more or less total PPV buys in 2011 than they did in 2010? And if Mir versus Cro-Cop could sell 350K PPV's, I'd guess a Mir-Cain headliner would do at least that but probably more especially with an absolutely loaded card to support it. Not to shabby for a 'last resort'. ::
Go watch the Fox broadcast. Dana is in the booth and extremely angry with the outcome of the fight. Says JDS has no cardio, berates Velasquez for not taking JDS down and then in the post-fight press conference says "The UFC would f*cking suck without Brock Lesnar!" ::
You didn't watch the Fox event I can see. You're so clueless.:atu: Amazing that I'm wasting my time having discussions with guys who claim to be UFC fans but don't even watch the events.::
"The truth is Junior Dos Santos gets tired at the end of fights." "...take this thing into the later rounds where Junior Dos Santos is known for getting tired." - Dana White
Great quotes... But when are you gonna post the one where Dana says JDS is a bum and has no cardio... Are you going to post those soon. :l2: Typical dumb ass Hanzy.
Doesn't matter if it's word for word. Dana White said JDS has no cardio and gets tired. Sugarcoat it all you want.
Yeah, if you can get a large Mexican following, you got it made. Cain really failed on that note. The UFC failed most of all. Their world heavyweight champ was KO'd in 90 seconds.
What Dana actually said is a Grand Canyon sized leap from saying JDS was a bum with NO cardio. Typical Hanzy BS as I thought.
Stop being so defensive. Dana White said JDS gets tired. It means the same thing as "JDS has no cardio". There is no difference whatsoever how I said it and how Dana White said it. Stop being a twat Trplsec.
Getting tired late in fights is NOT the same as having "No cardio". But besides all that, none of what Dana said can be even loosely translated into JDS being a bum. By the way, I am far from defensive. Personally I love your trolling. It is never easier to make another poster look like an idiot. Thanks.
