I can't think of any fighters below 154 that would have an easy time with Floyd in history. As big of a cunt as he is, he is a great fighter whereas OSCAR WAS MERELY good. Still I think a prime Oscar beats him clearly, but easily would be the wrong way to describe it. I think WINky would beat Floyd in the most one sided fashion for fighters that could have actually fought Floyd. Hearns is a bad matchup for Floyd, stylistically. Still, if Benitez could survive Hearns so would Floyd have. Hearns 8-4 over 12. Contrary to popular opinion though Floyd could have hurt Welterweight Hearns. Leonard would beat Floyd too, but competitively. Hearns and Leonard were bigger men than Floyd so when coupled with their handspeed and boxing ability they are the worse possible stylistic matches for Mayweather. No, he couldn't have. Floyd doesn't hit anywhere remotely CLOSE to as hard as Leonard. Floyd wouldn't really be that competitive with Leonard after awhile. Ray would put him in a shell, which is basically the only way Floyd lasts the distance. If Floyd grew the balls to fight with Leonard, I have zero doubt that Ray would have knocked him out. Its very true that Floyd hasn't fought anyone on the level of those guys. But I just see him as a superior fighter to those guys. Better boxing ability than any of them, and a smarter fighter than any of those guys. And I just feel that with his quick mind and defensive skills, that he'd be able to befuddle De La Hoya all night. Oscar would give a great account of himself for sure.
