Does anyone else here think that Floyd is going to "Gatti" Cotto?

Cotto is a hundred times the fighter Gatti was. No way in hell Floyd beats him like Gatti. He MAY stop Cotto late, but it's not going to be target practice from the opening bell. Gatti was a sitting duck from the start. He wasn't in the fight, ever, not even for a second.

As Floyd goes up the weights his hand speed has declined. His foot speed and reflexes are still ridiculous but his hand speed isn't what it was. Cotto will give Floyd a lot of problems in this fight. For a start he will be smart enough to attack the body something a lot of Floyds opponents don't do for some reason.

    Stooooopid logic, btw

Liston was 100x better than Henry Cooper...Ali beat him just as easily.

You will see. It's obviously going to be a tougher fight for Floyd than you think.

Gatti was Dominated Every MINUTE, Every SECOND of Every ROUND in his Fight w/Floyd...@ No Point Did Gatti Appear to Be Even REMOTELY Competitive...Miguel Cotto is Simply Toooo GOOD to Be Beaten to THAT Level of Severity, even by Floyd...

Only is Sly's WET DREAM will Floyd Pull a "Gatti" on Miguel Cotto...

    My thoughts exactly.

"Like I said before", Cotto will be competitive for the first 3-4 rounds. Not saying he'll WIN those rounds, but he'll be competitive.

By the 5-6, Floyd will have completely figured Cotto out (Miguel aint the hardest fighter to solve) and at THAT point, it might become target practice.

But to say he'll go out like Gatti is an insult to Miguel. Cotto is a light year better than the drunken, bi-polar punching bag.

I see this as a one-sided fight too. Not as much as Gatti fight (nothing is as onesided as that) but it will resemble that. Cotto won't win rounds, he will get hit a lot and will be stopped. Styles suit PBF here, plus Cotto is no more the same guy whom Floyd blatantly avoided

Co-sign. It won't necessarily be that Mayweather figures Cotto out, though I expect he will anyway, it's that Cotto has the worst stamina in the entire universe. He'll start well, may even win two or three of the first six or seven rounds, then he will fade and get picked off. He likely gets stopped (on his feet or corner stoppage) in the 11th or even the 12th IMO.

By Simply LANDING a Meaningful Punch, Getting the Better of a SINGLE Exchange, "Winning" a 30 Second Stretch or Even a Winning a SINGLE Round, Cotto will have Out Done Gatti...

Perhaps Brother Sly HASN'T Watched Floyd-Gatti in a While, but Cotto's a Different Kettle of Fish...EVENTUALLY, Floyd will Dominate the Fight, but he's Gonna have to WORK for it, Initially...

Cotto can Be Broken, but it's NEVER an Easy Process...

Myth. It was even on the cards. His quitting is actually as fishy as the rematch.

Ali was outboxing/beating up Liston in one sided fashion. IDGAF what the cards said. Re-watch the fight.

There was nothing fishy about Liston quitting. He was a front runner who was getting his ass kicked by a man who he couldn't hit. He cheated, and tried to blind Ali, and STILL couldn't hit him.

Its not like Leonard-Duran, where Duran quit outta frustration/embarassment. Liston quit outta frustration and because he was getting busted him.

3-4 more rounds, and Ali would have forced a ref stoppage.

The cards were indeed even (or 3-2-1 Ali) but the sixth round had been a very good one for Ali and the fight seemed to have turned to his way, which seems to be the reason why Liston quit there.

Also, Ali-Cooper I was also an even fight when it was stopped so I guess you could say that Ali beat them as easily?:NotThink:

I think the cards were wrong

Liston won a round when Clay was blind, but that was the extent of what he managed to get done in the fight.

As everyone has said in response to this:

"Even on the cards" between Clay and Liston is the biggest joke ever. Clay absolutely dominated him. Liston's only success was during the round where he blinded Clay with linament.

Getting raped is nothing new for Cotto. It's why Fraud F*ckweather's taking the fight.

Regardless of what the card said, Clay was outclassing Liston virtually every second of every round with the exception of the blinding.

The telling part is the fact that you can re-watch the fight now and think Clay was kicking his ass. Imagine watching it live with the idea that Clay was supposed to get destroyed. I would have thought the live scoring would have really favored Clay as typically the fighter that is out performing expectations gets more credit than he deserves.
