Impressed with Floyd last night he fought well. Congrats to Cotto that was a tough fight but he never stopped trying sometimes you just come up against a better fighter.

    You never stop, do you??

Mayweather would HUMILIATE that cheating fag Margarito who has no skills and no brain.

As for the Mayweather-De La Hoya fight, let it go. Floyd won because he was better, simple as that. And he'd have beaten Oscar at any point in his career.

:laugh11:Fraud would die against a prime Oscar! It's not even up for debate.
As for Margarito, your faggot pussy hero was running scared for years. Running from both Margarito and Pacquaio cause he knows what Cotto did against him last night is not even a fraction of the kind of stress he'd be under against these two guys.

    Your act is tired.

    Mayweather whips that bum Margarito.

Mayweather-De La Hoya is competitive at any time but Floyd is the better fighter, period.

Once again, I was way closer to the reality than you Sly. Your fandom blurs your vision and judgement. Next time you'll know better and will listen the the wise words of the Baron.

    My customary random thoughts -

    1) I'm enjoying Floyd's later-career style allot more. Not a deciliter of leap amateurism left.:crafty: It was like watching George Benton in those early rounds at times and I can't say higher than that. Brilliant fight.

    2) Cotto is better than I thought he was. And I don't think he's shot or even declined. Leaving aside round 8 which was brilliant, the first half of Round 6 was the closest we've ever seen to Floyd being outboxed.

    3) 10 ounce gloves are horse shit. Merchant was right to complain about them. Without them Floyd would have won even more convincingly.

    4) Pink leggings? Maybe Cotto is trying to tell his mum something, afterall.

    5) Merchant has to go. Get him to fuck.

    6) I thought the judges had it about right. I had it 9-3. I gave Cotto 3,6 & 8. 3 might have been generous.

    7) It seemed to me the 'sweeping right hand' HBO talked about kept happening early in Rd.4 because Cotto started circling left across Floyd. He was pretty fastidious about moving right & coming in from Floyd's left in the rest of the fight. I think it was a mental lapse early in 4 & he corrected himself well.

Great fight. If they announced a rematch I wouldn't complain at all.

Hut will you please admit now that Cotto is better than you give him credit for, and is not a Toyota hatchback afterall :kidcool:

I agree, round 6 was as well as anyone has done against Floyd, it's probably the most frustrated I've ever seen Floyd look.

Cotto is a great fighter, I thought he had the perfect style and physical make up to make Floyd look good, but he showed what a solid, skillful fighter he is despite that.

But you have to be kidding me about 3 being generous. I can't see it as being less than 4 rounds to Cotto. I'd like to rewatch it, as my stream did keep pausing.

I thought Cotto actually dictated the pace and style of the fight, and made Floyd uncomfortable for lots of it, maybe I'm giving him to much credit for that, I don't know. But I think he outlanded Floyd in at least 4 rounds, and landed nice, hard bodyshots too which slowed Floyd down, though he got a second wind late in the fight.

I think we're right. Not sure whether people were being swayed by the absurd commentary or what, but I don't think Cotto is getting full credit for what he did in the ring on Saturday. It was a legimitately close fight.

It was a competitive fight but it wasn't close in rounds. 6 and 8 were the only rounds you could comfortably give to Cotto. Floyd was usually outlanding him 2 to 1

That Floyd really walked down Cotto and stopped him like you said huh Sly? Cotto was the aggressor the entire fight.

Yup Merchant is the man....he had one stupid quote during the Mayweather vs. Cotto fight...something about "in the past Mayweather was Hip Hop artist, now he is a Rap singer" or some shit like that.....

but early in the nite before he got drunk...he had a very good one....about Quintana vs. Williams fights...."One was a Novel, the other one a short story" or something like that...

Very competitive, yes; close in terms of rounds, no.
