A woman on the run from the mob is reluctantly accepted in a small Colorado town. In exchange, she agrees to work for them. As a search visits town, she finds out that their support has a price. Yet her dangerous secret is never far away...

This movie is fucking terrific. It's definitely a movie about Human nature. About how no matter where you are, you find some fucked up people. And it's your job to judge or not judge accordingly.

Gatti i think you will love this movie. Lb 4 lb. Stay away.

I was never able to make it all the way through, and that's pretty rare for me.

The faux theatre/stage setting annoyed me to no end.

Yeah i thought that was so good. At first it was strange, but i got use to it. But i wish you finished it. Probably one of the best endings in movie history. I didnt play it safe and loved that about it. Give it another shot. It's get really good when the whole town turns.

    Maybe I'll try it again.

I find I have a really hard time getting into Von Trier's stuff.

I feel like I should like his movies more then I do. They just seem so overwrought and artificial to me.

Malick I get though, and he's much more naturalistic in his approach.

    They're nothing alike as directors.

I haven't had a chance to check out Melancholia yet. I am a bit interested in it.

Anti-Christ was nice to look at, but it didn't do much for me other then make me a bit squeamish.

Well they both have a similar shooting style. Both have long shots with visually stunning images that say more than any word can. Have you seen Dancer in the Dark?

I don't know Anthony. They seem like polar opposites to me.

I think it's another one I've seen parts of.

Dont anybody spoil this movie. I trust tho that if you actually invested in the movie and stayed with it, that there is no way you dont have a huge fucking smile on your face at the end. Because honestly the ending couldnt have been anymore satisfying.

Are you sure I won't like this movie GF? Because I love a great ending as much as the next guy and dramas are my favorite genre. What film does it compare to?

It's slow. It's about a small town in the Colorado Rockys called Dogville. Very small, just one street. Well Nicole Kidman's charector made it's way into town after being chased and shot at by some people. When she got there, they hid her from these people who were looking for her. But they didnt really want to do it. There is something strange about the town. They finally agreed to let her stay there out of the condition that Kidman's charector would do "uncessary" work for them each day. An hour or two each person. Well eventually they start to take advantage and treat her like a slave. It's almost like a prison. Then it starts to get good and i wont tell you the rest. while the movie takes place in Colorado, the whole thing is shot in a giant room with each house layed out by tape on the ground. Like one big diagram. You can see in each house, but of course the people there cant see it. But we the audience can. There are no doors or walls, but of course they open the door and close it. It's interesting. And it takes a commitment to finish it.
