For sure. It should be random or nothing really, everyone can beat a planned test these days. The guys who fail the planned tests really fucked up.

This strikes me as odd. A lightweight or junior welter fighter using anabolic steroids. He barely makes 140. Exogenous testosterone is going to help you build muscle IF your diet changes appropriately. If you are eating like a bird to make weight, this is not going to help you, and may cause other problems.

Your body normally produces a certain amount of testosterone. It spikes in puberty and stays pretty damn high until it starts to slide later, maybe at 30, maybe later. Peterson is what, 28? And trying to make 140? at 5' 9''? And he wants to do what? Gain 20 pounds of muscle in an 8 week training camp? What the fuck for? Was he planning on not making weight?

It makes no sense at all. If you inject just a modicum of testosterone (say an ester) like 250mg/week (1 ampule usually contains that in 1ml), your test will spike like crazy and everything changes. Especially if it is your first time. You WILL gain muscle mass rapidly and yeah it will increase hairline recession, oily skin, yadda, yadda.... but it seems completely entirely stupid and unnecessary for a 28 year old junior welter.

You can cite endurance and energy and all that, and I don't know, I don't think I have every heard of anyone using testosterone (other than maybe with natural hormone deficiencies) JUST to singularly gain energy and endurance and somehow AVOID the anabolic effects. I don't know, maybe with just the right drug and diet cocktail you can do it, but it seems counter-intuitive. Why include the anabolic? And why test, which is probably the first thing they check for and there are very solidly established levels for this in males of all ages (see: Ryan Braun)?

Ah well. A serious fuck up if correct, stupid and probably only mildly helpful. At 28 and in good shape, trying to make weight, you'd be better off with a really good nutritionist and gym regime. You know, when he's 38 and fighting at 160, well I guess I could understand the mentality at least. But now? Before this fight, career high payday win or lose? Maybe his camp just ain't all that smart.

"We're injecting you with B-12, bend over. Don't worry."

Weight has nothing to do with it, you're not going to get big on 250mg of Test unless you're eating big and lifting big - that describes neither the diet nor the workout regimen of a boxer. You certainly aren't going to gain 20 lb of muscle in six weeks. If you use a long-acting ester and keep your blood levels stable, you aren't going to get a lot of the sides associated with exogenous test (eg., oily skin, acne). Testosterone isn't usually that hard on the hairline either - DHT based steroids are worse. It can actually help hair grow thicker and lusher (possibly due to the effects of aromatization), especially in conjunction with GH.

The primary benefits for a fighter would be the ability to train harder and recover faster, increased red blood cell count (endurance), potential increase in aggression/confidence, and most importantly, the anti-catabolic effects. When you're in a severe caloric deficit and trying to make weight, throwing in AAS not only serves as a catalyst for lipolysis, it does a lot to minimize muscle loss.

that's because you have very limited knowledge of steroids, they are way more than a single one and their effects greaty vary from one to another, a steroid like anavar won't make you gain muscle mass if you don't train for that purpose and will in fact help you making weight.

It stinks, and the worst part of it all is that they got him to say he had been using it all along, i.e. for the first fight too...in otherwords, there is never ANY reason to go near Mr Peterson, have it changed to NC, Amir knows how to fight on the inside, he's still undefeated, we want Floyd etc.

Richard Schaefer and Oscar are thugs.

My question is this. If Peterson tested positive back in March. Why in the hell did they come out this close to the fight. Why would they release the results this late into the game. Hmmm. I'll Holla 5000

Thanks.. I've just been busy as hell.

Testosterone can either be injected as a pure suspension, or bound to a short or long acting ester.. the benefits of a shorter acting ester (like propionate) being that a) the effects are more immediate, and b) it's out of your system quicker once you stop shooting it. Some say that it also helps prevent "testosterone bloat," but I don't know how true that is. The benefits of a longer ester (enanthate, cypionate) are less frequent injections, and more stable blood levels - which helps keep mood stable, prevents sides like oily skin/acne, etc.

if a fighter fails a test, it's up to the fighter to request that they test the B sample. They did test the B sample so maybe that is why it took longer to come out. Still seems like a long time though.

Yes, and did you see how little noise that got around here??

Most of the guys Khan beat, and some of the guys he lost to, have gone on to do precisely fuck all.

Maidana- looked shit vs Morales, lost to Alexander.

McKloskey: Beaten by 84 year old Chop-Chop.

    Peterson: took Schaefers step-aside money.

    Prescott: Do me a favour.

Limond? Knocked out by old drunk Morales.

Gomez? Do me a favour, he's in a nursing home for destitute tinkers.

Only Moorlignaggi has added up to anything in the interim.

Petersen is a disgrace. Khan shouldn't have to fight someone who has been proven to cheat, good on him, he is a credit to boxing and should be commended.
