I always enjoyed watching the guy. The bottom line is that he was marginally skilled and his career is probably highlighted by putting up good fights BUT losing to the best guys he faced.
Good move, his performance against Bisping was utterly pathetic, and he can't even beat Dollaway. Did anyone see the fight? I didn't even know he was fighting :: I used to like Mayhem, but damn, that Bisping performance.
I think his knee was badly jacked-up against Dollaway. He couldn't stop even a single take down. It was funny, Miller doesn't have much punching power, but he badly hurt Dollaway with strikes twice. Meanwhile, Dollaway got take downs but did absolutely nothing on the ground. Losing to Dollaway SHOULD make a fighter consider retirement. The other thing is that Miller used to look like a cardio machine. But in his last 2 fights he's tired badly.
He's never been a great fighter, but yeah, he has looked solid at times, and with good stamina as you say. Wonder what the hell happened to him? Think he just became shot overnight or perhaps just lost motivation and stopped training properly? When did his knee injury occur?
I haven't been able to find anything about his knee but he had a huge brace on it during the fight and it actually gave out on him twice. To me it seems like there was a huge drop in Miller's game the minute he came back to the UFC. Maybe he can't handle the big spotlight.
i was actually thinking that he was gonna retire. good for him. he seemed to lack motivation in his last two fights.
A guy with a tv show and the number of fights he's had and previous UFC experience...I wouldn't say his performance has anything to do with the spotlight. He was just terrible against Bisping and I think his knee was the main reason he lost to Dollaway. But who cares? If the knee was that bad, he should have dropped out. I agree about his cardio and that probably means one of two things...1. didn't train hard enough or 2. cardio was previously enhanced.
LOL.. Yeah, he had 1 fight in the UFC WAY back in 2005 before coming back to the organization to face Bisping. With all that previous UFC experience, no way it could be the spotlight.
Miller was an overachiever. He was never the most talented guy in his camp, but he made the most out of what he had. He is extremely intelligent. He made allot of money fighting. I am positive to think his last two fights lacked because he has found it more pleasant to make money without being punched in the face or sucking weight in training camp. Good for him.
