Which isn't out of the realm of possibility given their ages and careers...Who would be left to follow?

We (boxing fans) might be fucked.

    in the '00s we had:

    Mosley
    De La Hoya
    Corrales
    Frietas
    Castillo
    Gatti
    Ward
    Hatton
    Cotto
    Tszyu
    Judah
    Tito
    Hopkins
    Barrera
    Vargas
    Forrest
    Mayorga
    Hamed
    Morales
    Mayweather
    Pacquiao
    Lewis
    Toney
    Marquez

    etc.

    Very underrated era of boxing.

    In the '10s we have......

Wlad, Vitali, Manny and Floyd...and they are all old men.

    What the fuck?

    Who are the other stars?

Yeah it is a pretty sad state of affairs, very sad as I am a true boxing fan.

Even some of the promising guys like Gamboa and Donaire have turned out to be big disappointments.

There is literally no one I can see replacing not only Manny/Floyd, but also Morales/Marquez etc, in terms of overall ability and excitement/watchability.

Sadly,...MMA is quickly killing boxing. Damn shame that guys like Bones Jones and Junior Dos Santos are MMA instead of giving pro boxing their best shot. I dont care what anyone says, wouldnt it be great if JDS woulda chose boxing about 15 years ago?

WTF would Jon Jones do well in boxing, dude has horrible hands.

Sure does look bleak at the moment, but who knows, if Bradley beats Pac tomorrow, that would make him an instant superstar, not to mention that JCC jr and Canelo have huge following in Mexico, and are not nearly as bad as most say they are (especially canelo). Not to mention that we should have a few hot prospect once the olympics are over.
The most worrysome thing is that the HW division continues to sink by the minute, and every new prospect seem to be worst that the preceding one. (I've just watched Kubrat Pulev, and think I will takes off my eyeballs, and soaked them in bleach to erase the visual memory)

And you're definition of stars is blurry, what do you means by it, boxers who draw crowds ??? If that's the case, there's quite a few that fit this description presently

Blame MMA. There are tons of Amateur stars switching over to the sport as we speak.

Jon Jones grew up wrestling. MMA was basically his only option in life. He didn't have any kind of pedigree for boxing or any other sports. Wrestling was his thing.
JDS likewise, much like Anderson Silva, had no ability for boxing.

2 of the 4 are great fighters in my opinion

1 probably is but just hasn't had much in the way of opposition

the other is a giant, quivering mound of pussy excreta

as usual, you speak from your ass

I speak pure truth. To say the game is fucked now, as opposed to 10 years ago, is nonsense to someone such as yourself who holds most of the guys listed in the first post in low regard anyhow

Boxing needs to climb down off its high horse. Part of what the MMA has going for it is that they don't give a fuck who you are or where you are from. In boxing, we have a regional snobbery, and it needs to go. Vitali and Wladimir could stand in with any heavyweight in history, wax half of them and have a chance against the rest. Thats a par with any generation. Not to everyones liking in terms of style, frailties etc, but Wlad has the same chance of beating Ali that Earnie Shavers did, and I can live with that.

A tall, athletic black man, possibly with a second career rapping on the side.

Disgusted by? says you, shit bird. Are you morphing 10 posters into one guy here or something? Just because I'm not dumb enough or wishful enough to believe that right now is a hot time for boxing or that Sergio Martinez is a highly skilled fighter, doesn't mean I am disgusted by the sport. I would expect even a dolt like you to know the difference between an honest assessment and "disgust", but I guess I overestimated you.

you rarely have anything positive to comment on about the sport or its participants. it makes me wonder why many people spend so much time posting here when it seems they dont even enjoy the fights, yourself included.

How would you know? Find one negative thing in, just as an example, the Pac/Bradley thread about either guy

You are talking out of your ass or attributing the words of several people to me

  Neil Kleinberg McRomney so desperately wants to be something he is not. Maybe his sister can get knocked up by a gentleman of colour and Neil can live vicariously through the lives of their caramel issue.
