As Rocky Juarez's career as a top fighter winds down, who can we look to for that patient, hunting style?

Mike Garcia looks to be promising, and seemingly far more skilled than Juarez.

Thoughts? Who else out there fits the mold of patient, methodical, and swift, delivering decisive blows only when the time is right, careful almost to a fault, but always surprisingly successful, at least at landing eventually that devastating blow?

Rocky Juarez's career as a top fighter wound down years ago. I don't think "hunter" is the term you're looking for, more like "guy who follows his opponent around looking retarded while waiting for the perfect KO opportunity that is unlikely to come against elite opposition, thus never reaching the top echelon of fighters for his entire career." I hate fighters like that.

    Arthur Abraham fits this description.

if we're talking about face first brawlers who constantly come forward then marcos maidana, antonio demarco, alfredo angulo, and james kirkland come to mind. orlando salido too considering he's not exactly your cute boxer type. he's probably the best one of the bunch.

Yeah, that's a swarmer, a "hunter" is nothing like that at all. A hunter is basically a patient puncher that doesn't throw much, and stalks his opponent waiting for an opportune moment to land a huge punch.

Juarez had his flaws, as do many hunters. Nontheless, there's a kind of beauty in the violence a hunter unleashes when he at last can find his prey. I agree they're frustrating to watch, especially when they fail in the end to get their guy.

rocky juarez was a mediocre guy who lost every damn meaningful fight he's ever had minus perhaps the barrios fight. he was boring and frustrating to watch and simply could not pull the trigger not because he was lazy but because he was just not very good at the world class level.
