Dude, Canelo is 5'8 and not even that big for a JUNIOR MIDDLEWEIGHT. Chumpez is a 6'0 Super middleweight who's HIDING at 160 because he knows Ward, Froch, and Kessler would end his life.

Canelo is more talented, but it'd simply be a case of a super middle beating up a junior middle.

Besides, even though Canelo is better, its not like Canelo is a SPECIAL talent. He's not talented ENOUGH to make up for the size difference. And above 154, I highly highly DOUBT his power would be as effective.

Canelo is weird, I honestly think he's one of those guys that's just not good at shedding weight. He looked exactly the same size as Mosley, who has always looked smallish at welter, let alone junior middle.

The Ginger is a fucking small light middle, and Chavez Jr is a HUGE middleweight.

I don't rate either of them much, Canelo is definitely better, but not Pacman Vs Plasterito better to overcome the massive size difference.

I think it would be a relatively easy fight for Jr on size difference alone.

 

This matchup should no longer be a debate. Jr. would beat the living shit outta Canelo.

At this point, I'm not even sure Canelo is P4P better.

I think the fact that Chavez Jr has a MUCH better chin, and stamina, makes him better than Canelo.

But if it was P4P, at least it would be competitive. With Chavez Jr's HUGE size edge, it'd be a mismatch.

 

I like how Chavez has improved. He's developed his skills while growing up as a massive fighter for his weight class. Canelo would be overwhelmed by Chavez in the later rounds.

 

Chavez is just way too big a guy for Alvarez

 

Put it this way, nobody would be giving Canelo a chance to upset Martinez.
