Chavez either way in a classic matchup... perfect mesh of styles... the strength, pressure and precision of Chavez versus the classic skills, feet and impetuous temperament of the fiery Scotsman... You know Buchanan will give every ounce of himself and win some rounds, but he just doesn't have the punch to slow Chavez down or get his respect enough to prevent the inevitable... Chavez by clear but hard-fought decision either way
I see Buchanan winning a decision over 12 or 15. Chavez's strength and stamina might make Buchanan wilt enough to pull out the decision in the later rounds over 15.. but then Chavez never fought 15, so it's hard to say.
I'd lean towards Buchanan over 12. He was very tough and skillful, and I think he'd simply score more points than Chavez over 12.
Have you seen Ken fight much, LOK? He was a beautiful boxer to watch, superbly conditioned and very tough as well. Duran wanted no part of a return bout with him.
I have, he was a good fighter.. Do you know he even tried to come back and fight Duran when Ken was Isis 60's? I think he needed money.. Sad. I think a prime Chavez was a grea fighter though...
He's an Alky, unfortunately. He stays in Glasgow now, near two mates of mine and by all accounts he's a regular feature.
That's a shame, Ken didn't seem the type, he always looked and appeared pretty normal and together. I guess a lot of alcoholics do though, it's not like being a junkie.
One of my best friends, my former roommate, is a chronic alcoholic who drinks a pint of Whiskey and several beers every single night after work and twice that on the weekends... He's a great guy, hilarious, brilliant, talented... But he hates himself and just can not stop drinking... He's probably missed 7 days of work in the last 5 years... He's 38 now, He'll likely be dead within 10 years, it is catching up to him. He's constantly flushed, his new housemates (a mutual friend and his girlfriend) have confided in me that he vomits blood from time to time. It's brutal.
There's not much you can do It is up to them They hit bottom and they either start making changes or they dig deeper It killed my father
