    THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN

    GENRE - ACTION

    PREMISE - As a child Peter Parker's parents are forced to leave him in the care of his aunt and uncle. As a high school teenager Peter tries to find out who his father was and what happened to him. His search will lead him to dr Connors. A scientist who worked with Peter's father during the time he disappeared. This meeting will also lead Peter to discover new powers as he becomes spiderman but will also lead to him meeting a deadly enemy.

    CRITIQUE - Caught this at a pre screening. I was very impressed. Very good story, acting, pacing, and dialogue. This spiderman seemed less powerful than the previous. Mainly in his jumping ability which seemed way more limited. His webs were man made but not by him which was actually one of the dumber aspects of the story. Anyway IMO Garfield made a much better Parker and Spiderman than Maguire did. The origins were changed up enough that I never felt like I was watching the same spiderman movie as last time. The fight scenes and swinging sequences were cool so good movie all around.

    SCORE - 8/10

    Actually, isn't that what Peter Parker used to do in the original Marvel Comics?

    Yeah, but that isn't what I meant was the dumb part. The dumb part was how he got the webbing for it, which I don't want to mention now because it's kind of a spoiler.

    I make those trailer threads to chronicle the movie through the eyes of the viewers. I make them to keep the discussion in there. but it's cool if you want to make a new one.

    And usually I'll put the discussions in there. However seeing as how I like my big time reviews (where I do the whole genre, premise, etc thing) to be the first post, the fact I knew nobody had seen the film yet, and because the old trailer thread and been bumped to page 2, I figured I'd start a new thread on it.

    Besides, people double thread films all the time and I actually made an issue about that once, and now look, I'm the one getting called out on it lol.

    Watched this night and have mixed-feelings.
    The acting and casting was definately better than the movies made back in the early 2000s.
    Andrew Garfield is great as Peter Parker, the blonde chick as Gwen Stacy I could fuck all night if I had the chance.
    The man-made webs were fine - I can get around that because it relates to how he was able to shoot webs inn the comic-books.

    What I didn't like:
    * revealing his secret identity to every fucker in town
    * 10-foot tall version of The Lizard
    * Movie seemed rather long

    7/10
