TAKE ME HOME TONIGHT GENRE - COMEDY PREMISE - Topher Grace plays Matt, a brilliant student who graduated at MIT but after college simply got a job as a video store clerk. He constantly reminisces about the day he nearly kissed his high school crush. One night during a big party he takes the one chance to get with her once and for all. Along with his twin sister and best pal they'll all have a night they'll never forget. CRITIQUE - This was probably the best comedy I've seen in a while. I loved it and would put it right up there with The Hangover and Superbad. Not saying everyone will like it that much, just that I did. It's set in the eighties but it didn't totally feel that way. I actually thought they had an 80's throw back party but after reading the premise it's actually set in that period. The film did have the feel of comedies from the 80's though. Anyway, it was very well written, and no weak links at all from the main characters. I highly recommend it, although I'm sure the many Grace haters that are out there won't like it. You can bet they'll probably watch it anyway, just so they can bitch how much they hate Topher Grace. SCORE - 7.5/10
It looks and sounds like yet another shitty, run-of-the-mill rom-com. In fact, I know its a shitty, run-of-the-mill rom-com. WTF, lb 4 lb? :scratcher:
It's not a romantic comedy. It's more like Superbad where the comedy stems from the guys trying to get the girls. It's not a romantic comedy where the two are in a relationship throughout most of the film. So no it's not a romantic comedy.
