Disney's Brave took the top spot at the box office with $66 million. It is just another triumph for Pixar studio's immaculate record both at the box office and with critics. The two week champ Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted moved down to the second spot with $20 million. In a somewhat unexpected outcome,Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter debuted with an abysmal $16 million. No one expected the R rated action-horror film to beat Brave, but opening in the third spot below $20 million wasn't foreseen by the movie gurus. Sliding down the chart from #2 to #4 Prometheus added $10 million to its account and finally passed the $100 million mark ($108 m). It is still way below its expected numbers to recoup its investment domestically. Fortunally the international market numbers has saved the studio its investment, but is still a long shot to show enough profit to warrant a sequel. Rock of Ages & Snow White & The Huntsman obtained identical numbers ($8 million) and tomorrow the final numbers will determine which one got spot #5 & #6. Adam Sandler's R-rated comedy That's My Boy went south from #4 last week to #7 with $7.9 million. Declining only 20% from last week Marvel's The Avengers is still holding well in its eight week of release with $7 million for a total of $598 million. The same cannot be said about Men In Black 3 which move three notches down in the chart with $5.6 million in the 9th spot. Finally in the 10th spot this week's other new release, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, bombs with $3.8 million. Even at its cheap $10 million budget this is not a good opening and by next week either will lose most of its 1,625 screens or will be removed completely from the race.

That's some good news and some horrible news. Great to hear that lump of shit looking film Abraham Lincoln VH tanked.

Horrible to hear Prometheus didn't do well enough to warrant a sequel. That almost will assure there won't be one and if it is, I'd expect cheaper CGI and technology. Fuuuck!
