This one is easy. No contest after 2. Bernard would get lit up in round 1. Benn would then make glancing contact with Bernard's brainstem and BSLOPP would fake convulsions and the fight would be stopped on a foul. It might be a dq win for Hopkins, but once the medical test came in they'd call it a NC. Trust me, if Calzaghe's power made Bernard want to quit, and Antwun Echol's power was "tremendous", according to the lying convict, Benn's power would make him shit in the ring. No way this fight goes more than 3 rounds. Hopkins might even pull a Cintron and leap out of the ring like he did against Robert Allen.
Benn, while game and exceptionally powerful, simply isn't smart enough or versatile enough to deal with someone like Bernard Hopkins. Ultimately, Bernard carefully boxes him early and as Benn inevitably begins to tire, Hopkins turns up the volume and it turns into a sadistic beating... Hopkins KO11
It's a good fight for the first 6 rounds or so, but then Benn starts to gas and Hopkins takes over and gets a stoppage somewhere around the 10th round.
Not totally convinced Benn is better than Trinidad. Not going either way on that one, but by Faaaaaaaaaaaaar might be a stretch.
Tito isn't much at 160. He has better punching technique than Benn, and is less wild, but Benn was a fucking beast. I think he'd be too much for Tito.
Once again, I am the only one to get this right. No way does this fight get to the stage where Bernard School's him. Bernard would quit first.
See Hopkins v Trinidad and you will have seen both. Tito wasn't a middleweight. I bet you Eubank hit harder, much harder at middleweight. Tito never beat anyone at middle as Watson or Eubank and not even close. Benn was getting kayo'd by bigger stronger guys and putting out bigger stronger guys.
:: I always forget Hopkins/Trinidad ended inside the distance. My bad. Still, Tito/Benn is a toss up. Tito was much better, but it's possible Benn wins on size.
Tito isn't much better than any world class fighter. I can't believe I am still having these conversations in 2012. He was an exciting and protected fighter who had badly outclassed several times by his rivals, below welterweight. He was not some P4P fighter. Benn is too big, hit way too hard. If Winky could control Tito with a jab, Benn's power would stop him cold.
Obviously the jabs hurt him enough to keep him at bay. Benn was very, very flawed, but he was game at full speed for 4 to 6 rounds. I just think Benn could take Tito's shots better than the other way around. Tito would be there to get hit. A guy who took the Gman's shots for 10 rounds is taking Trinidad's. Plus, Tito was hurt several times by much lesser punchers.
