I liked the way Rodriguez treated Lindsay Lohan in this film. The scene where Machete uses a guy's intestines as a rope was hilarious. Steven Seagal as a mexican mobster? ROFL
Huh? El Mariachi? Sin City? From Dusk til Dawn The Faculty? Planet Terror? You fucking nuts or something
I think it's more under seen then actually underrated. I personally know only 1 person whose seen it and it ain't me.
Sin City was mostly Frank Miller the one who directed it. I'm not saying he sucks, but I don't enjoy most of his films for some reason.
Have you seen Miller's other movie he directed, the Spirit? It was a piece of shit. Rodriguez directed this movie man. So just to be clear, you didnt Like El Mariachi? Dusk til Dawn? or The Faculty?
If you like movies with a lot of brainless action, blood and humour, than this is the movie for you. Great action packed movie.
Dusk to Dawn caused me not to watch a new movie for 2 years. In fact, I will never watch a movie without recommendations because of that movie. Dusk to Dawn is easily one of the worst films ever, in any era and this will be true 100 years from now. I had no idea this bastard did those films too. Sin City and Planet Terror sucked too.
:: You have to remember movies are about fun. You can't tell me you enjoyed piranha and then turn around and tell me you didn't enjoy dusk.
I could appreciate El Mariachi for what it is. A low budget high octane foreign film. I watched desperado before El Mariachi. In fact, Desperado was the first Rodriguez film I watched so it blew me away, but I was a teenager. Rodriguez films are about having fun and eating pop corn, and honestly I want to watch films with a little more depth. Sin City rocked because of the characters and the story. It was given to him, and he himself admitted that Frank Miller ran the show in the set, and Rodriguez is so cool that he gave Miller the "Director" credit in the film (Which costed him his membership in the director's guild). I admire the guy for basically directing/editing/scoring the films by himself and how he made his name from scratch.
Have you ever seen The Misbehaviors? It's part of the movie called 4 rooms with Tim roth. It has 4 directors. Each director films a different room and Tim Roth is the Bellhop. That was very good. Tarantino's room was better. but Rodriguez' room was good too.
Thanks for mentioning that film since someone told me about it some time ago and I never remembered the title. I didn't know both Tarantino and Rodriguez were in there. I'll give it a shot.
I liked the Misbehavors better than Tarintino's predictable yarn. Tarintino's was predictable but still good because of the performances and because Tarintino does dialogue like no other. I'm not saying he's the best at it just unique in his style.
