I have this gut feeling that Chavez is going to break Martinez down. Either way, I expect an exciting fight.

like who, Darren Barker and Matthew Macklin?

He looked like shit doing it... same old Orangutan bullshit he did against drunk ass Pavlik and Paul Williams

No one has ever gotten more mileage out of a bunch of awkward wins and a one-in-a-million KO win than this guy.

If I went in to a coma ten years ago and woke up now and you said "Let me get you caught up on boxing. Check this guy out, he's the best P4P fighter in the world" and showed me a Martinez fight, I would ask to be put back in to a coma.

beating williams twice, dzinzuruk, and pavlik is better than anything mayweather jr has done the past 3 years.

only he didn't beat Williams twice:scratcher:

Dzinzuruk is somebody special now? based off of what?

Mayweather has lost, what, 4 rounds over that same period?

By difficult he probably means Cotto will win 8-4 or 9-3.

Dzinsuruk is the only victory that Martinez ever impressed me in.I felt Williams beat him handily in the first fight. How Fagboy gets credit for winning is beyond me. Sergei has an excellent jab. I love watching that guy fight, but he never fought anyone before or since.

Dzinziruk isn't very good, but he does have a decent jab and is a solid enough boxer, and the supposed skill-less leap amateur outboxed him :kidcool:

Nah, he pretty much just outjabbed him, then when Ziruk became frustrated he started landing big shots and took him out.

Opinion on who won that fight was pretty split, so no you can't turn it into a W just because you want it to be that way

Cotto is a way better fighter than Dzinzuruk, for fuck's sake, and you know it

Sort of. You left out the Carl Lewis running around faggotry which made up 2:35 seconds of every round, just like every round that faggot fights.

my opinion counts the most, to me. and i had it a clear victory for martinez. he landed all the best, hardest, cleanest shots. he scored the harder knockdown and won the most rounds.

as for cotto and dzinzuruk, if they fought a few years ago up until now im not sure who i would pick to win. same goes if they were to fight later this year. not to mention martinez beat him down a lot more thoroughly than mayweather jr. did cotto.

Humiliates is just such a wrong word for this. How about trying to get some interest in the fight so it sells more and everybody makes more money? That's a little more accurate. Humiliating would be showing up to the press conference with pictures of Junior in drag with a Russian prostitute.

I created both of these fighters in "Fight Night" video game. I gave Chavez Jr. more power, more stamina, less propensity to cuts, good chin, etc just because of his youth physical advantage, less battle worn and being so far proven to have a good chin. I gave Martinez more speed and more heart, but a little less of everything else I gave Chavez Jr. Then I put them to fight. The outcome was very entertaining. A better fight than I thought. At the beginning Martinez tried to physically impose his will on Chavez Jr and almost got KO in the first round. Martinez then changed his plan to box from the outside and counterpunch Chavez Jr with excellent results. Still Chavez Jr. was a tough cookie and Martinez was having his eyes swollen and bleeding. By the fifth round the accumulation of punches had taken its toll on Chavez Jr and he began to fade and was in clear survival mode. Martinez chased him and continued punishing him dropping him twice until he finally finishes him in the seventh round with a devastating left hook. Martinez KO victory in 7th. The fight was so entertaining it had two rematches. In the second fight an overconfident cocky Martinez was knocked down three times in the first round by Chavez Jr and later KOd cold in the third. Since there was a rematch clause the third fight was inevitable. It was almost a carbon copy of the first fight except for Martinez getting knocked down in the third and seventh round. Chavez Jr was dropped five times and the referee stopped the fight in the nineth round due to the damage in Chavez Jr right eye. I am sure there will be another rematch! :)

Anyone that thinks junior is going to win this fight has some issues with boxing.

The issues being they don't know anything about the sport.

Karl, boxing wise, talent for talent, Martinez has him whipped. Junior is as manufactured as Joey Gamache. He's been carefully matched, and they've brought in guys to make him look good and given him every possible physical advantage. But hey- that's also boxing. Boxing, and knowing boxing, suggests there is every chance of something going wrong for Martinez on the big night. If you know what I mean.
