If Tyson wasn't on drugs, would he have KO'd Douglas easily?

I still think he loses. The way Douglas fought that night is the blueprint on how to beat Tyson on any night. He was focused and stuck to the plan. It was all about the style; having the physical ability and attributes to execute the plan and mental toughness.

While I do reject the notion that Tyson was "past prime" for this fight (and that Douglas was magically transformed into Ali for one night), I do think if Tyson was properly prepared and started the fight with his usual aggressiveness and effectiveness, he would have gotten Douglas out of there as was originally expected.

To me, the key to this fight was Tyson not coming out and getting all over Douglas early. Tyson was coming forward and throwing, but that sense of urgency that we saw in his previous title defenses was not there. Each round that went by increased Douglas' confidence and his chances of winning.

I think if we saw a properly trained and focused Tyson, he would have had much more of an impact early on, thus increasing the odds that Douglas' chicken-heart (it's normal state) would fail him.
