too many movies, too many reboots (these new spiderman and superman films completely unnecessary), and both marvel and dc have had their big marquee blow-outs with the avengers and dark knight rises this year. hollywood's gone to the well too many times. superhero movies have had a good run for the past ten or so years and there've been some high points - spiderman I-II, iron man, nolan's batman, some of the x-men stuff, comedy take-offs in the incredibles and mystery men, postmodern spins in shyamalan's unbreakable and kick-ass - but the genre's best days are probably behind it.

Didn't you said the same thing a few years ago? To the contrary: this is THE superhero revival time: everybody will be trying to get a slice of the pie. We will see an avalanche of quickie lousy films, but also a few gems along the way.

DC could have done a Shazaam film instead of another Superman.

I find the whole trend to be kind of annoying/stupid. I haven't seen a single one that I didn't think was a hackneyed piece of crap. Generally, these films are meant to be enjoyed by 10 year olds and mental midgets like reed.

So Most of these Comic Book Flicks Add a LOVE INTEREST Angle to Appease 10 Year Olds???:scratcher:...

Noooo, they Do So to Give ADULT FEMALES a Reason to Accompany their ADULT MALE Husbands/Boyfriends/Dates/etc. to Superhero Flicks...Most Superhero Flicks AREN'T Made for Children, Contrary to YOUR Simple Minded Ass Beliefs...Watch ANY Of the Dark Knight Flicks & U're HONESTLY Telling REED the TARGET AUDIENCE is a 10 Year Old???...

Fuuuurthermore, YOU'RE the Idol Worshipping TOOL that Gives an Obese Panamanian (Who was BRUTALLY Concussed by Tommy Hearns) Carte Blanche to Do "Whatever the Fuck He Wants"....Yet REED is Supposed to Be the "Mental Midget" in this Exchange???....

It's Actually COMICAL that U're Sooooo BUTTHURT Over REED SHREDDING your Hero, that U're Now Thread Stalking Him...

Wow, they put in a formulaic and hopelessly cliched plot device. I guess that makes it the pinnacle of film for intelligent adults? The Lorax had a love interest angle. I bet you would consider it the film of the year. Actually, the Lorax (which I took my boys to see) was better than most superhero movies. It was more creative, less recycled, less tired, less unoriginal crap designed for the lowest common denominator.

I'm not sure what Duran has to do with this thread. But I do find it funny you fanatically defend wanting to watch some Hollywood fairy in a PVC suit and cape prance around pretending to beat up bad guys, yet mock a real life superhero who would still KO gay ass Christian Bale inside one round today.

Geez, those have to be two of the lamest superheroes ever created. Why would you want to see movies done on them?

Super-Heroes movies...they don't seem to be slowing down at all, so I don;t think they've had their day.

I wanna see more: Sub-Mariner, Doctor Strange, Luke Cage: Power-Man, Captain Marvel, , more of The Avengers and they should be able to re-do The Fantastic Four again but much better...the weakest link in those two movies was The Thing: fuck short-fat dumpy Chilkis...he seriously should be CGI'd.

And a proper fuck-off Galactus...and The Skrulls...I wanna see MORE!

    Go, Marvel!

True, but it was way better than the borefest the first one was. To me the film can be enjoyed to a certain degree, except for turning Galactus into a giant cloud. That was unforgivable!

    A. Were There Any MAKE OUT Scenes Involving this Love Interest???...
    B. At Any Time was the Love Interest Shown IN BED w/Any Other Character???...
    C. Was the Love Interest or Any Other Character SCANTILY CLAD @ Any Point???....

Here's what REED KNOWS; Scarlet Johaanson, Halle Berry, Anne Hathaway, Michelle Pfieffer, Kim Basinger & Other HOT Women (Current &/or from the Past), have Been Featured in COMIC BOOK Flicks, yet YOU Think the Target Audience is 10 Year Olds???...

In "Superman II", Christopher Reeve Temporarily RELINQUISHED his Powers for his Love Interest, Lois Lane...How is THAT "Tired & Recycled"???....In "Superman III", Reeve STRAIGHTENED the Leaning Tower of Pisa, then Flipped Off a Vendor, who was Selling Replicas of the Monument...Was THAT Meant to Attract 10 Year Olds as Well???...

REED is a Live & LET Live Sort, Whereas YOU'RE Admittedly the Type that LIKES to Wind Posters Up; a Lame Ass, Chickenshit TROLL, in Other Words...& What a MISERABLE Existence that Must B, Sitting Around Waiting for the Next Thing to CRITICIZE, w/Out ANY Fact or Basis, No Less...

Here we Are in a Superhero Thread, yet YOU Attribute "Real Life Superhero" Status on a Fat, Retired Panamanian who's QUIT & Had his Ass Served to him in Pieces...Suspending Reality for 2 1/2-3 Hours is Allegedly Childish, yet Hero Worshipping Someone in REAL Life Isn't???...

Back to the Drawing Board w/your Bullshit, Homegirl...Regroup, Try to Formulate a LEGITIMATE Argument in the Future & Please Come Again...
