Fox studio tried desperately to get a Daredevil reboot film off the ground with two tentative production attempts before October 2012, but now it has been reported by the proposed director, Joe Carnahan of A-Team 'fame', that it will be impossible to get this film started before October (went the rights to the character will go back to Marvel Studios and Disney if a film doesn't start production by that time). Carnahan cited that his vision for the dead project, a retro Serpico-style Daredevil film, was ultimately rejected by the studio for not being 'kid friendly'. While fans of the character might lament this, others, like me, rejoice at the though of the character going back to Marvel Studios which is where it belongs. Marvel could do their own version more truer to the character and/or have Daredevil have a role in one of their sequels to The Avengers or any of their other characters. Marvel supposedly offered Fox to extend the rights to Daredevil to Fox studio in exchange of the rights to The Silver Surfer & Galactus. Fox supposedly rejected this proposal though they are doing absolutely NOTHING with those characters.

I can't help but think a Daredevil reboot is going to turn out shitty. When doing superhero movies they really need to go with strong directors who are willing to stick to the comic book to a certain extent. I think too many new directors try to turn these characters into their own vision of how they think it should be or even what will be successful, as opposed to attempting a historical portrayl of the characters and the origins.

Daredevil gives false impessions of what blind people can accomplish. You know how many visually impaired children have died being "inspired" by this red costumed fraud?

It's hard enough being a parent. When you're raising a blind child the last thing you need is some hollywood movie telling them they can fight crime.

    Daredevil was wank anyway.
    Not very strong, just agile.

And a blind bastard, to boot.

I never heard of a blind child dying while trying to imitate Daredevil. In fact they cannot even see the comicbook nor the character.

The Ben Affleck "Daredevil" film was close to the character storywise, but the movie itself was forgettable. Blame the director. I didn't like the red leather costume either nor the mask. Affleck was okay in the role, not memorable, just okay.

And Jennifer Garner was hot as Elektra, but had the wrong costume.
