    Yeah, it's an awesome movie.

Better than The Dark Knight IMO, without a fraction of the hype.

I finally saw this after X raved about it and I don't see what is so good about it, either

It was reasonably entertaining but hardly a really good, let alone a great movie

I'm in the it was ok camp. Not better than the Matrix and not in the same league as Dark Knight. It tries to be so clever but misses the mark ever so slightly.

First of all that isn't my only critique of the film AND unlike you I will actually give my critique here and give examples of why I think it tried to be "clever".

Going off what I remember of the film I felt it was a bit dark in atmosphere for my tastes which is something I tend to always hate in a film. Although the dialogue was well done it could be a bit long winded at times and the film seemed to suffer from being too long which IMO hurt its replay value the most. I also wasn't too fond of the pacing. For an action flick this film seemed to be confusing itself with a drama at times and the worst thing about the film is it comes off mediocre in both those areas because of limited and short action sequences and a limited story with not enough depth. That's my critique going off memory of the film because I haven't seen it in years.

Now where I thought the film was trying to be so clever was in the scene where he was spouting off scentences using only words that begin in V. Also in the twist scene where it winds up being V who kidnaps and tortures the girl and in the way it seemed to use similar political issues that were going on in the real world at that time. But like I said it seemed to miss the mark ever so slightly to me.

I knew when I wrote the earlier post that you would attack it for being similar to the very critique I criticized you for. Thing is you don't have to take this so personal as if I'm attacking you. You gave a one liner as your critique for what I feel is a great film. It just happened to be the perfect example of the kind of typically vague critiques that I hate. Like I said it isn't personal against you and I don't mind you defending your position at all. It would be nice though if you could defend your position with a full critique which actually explains the one liner.
