I browsed the forum and saw no mention of this. If its already been posted, I apologize. I think Mike has a good point. Fif likely has a narrow view of the boxing world and its antics by looking through Floyd's goggles: http://www.rapgodfathers.info/news/36395-mike-tyson-warns-50-cent-about-boxing-world Boxing legend Mike Tyson recently warned rapper 50 Cent about the pitfalls of the boxing industry in an interview with Entertainment Sports Radio. BoxingScene reports that Tyson discussed his views on 50 Cent’s new venture with Floyd Mayweather Jr., The Money Team Promotions aka TMT Promotions. 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather have already signed several high-profile boxers to TMT Promotions, including Yuriorkis Gamboa, Andre Berto, Billy Dib, and Celestino Caballero. “I wish 50 Cent the best of luck in the world with the endeavor that he’s doing, but this is something that 50 Cent has to know when you’re dealing with something like boxing and you’re dealing with human beings,†Mike Tyson said. “We calling it peddling the flesh. Even though you’re paying them, you’re still dealing and flesh.†According to Tyson, the sport of gambling is so corrupt that he believes it should be taken over by the government. Tyson warned 50 Cent that his new company with Floyd Mayweather could also cost him his career as an entertainer. “50 is a rap star, 50 is an entertainer, 50 is an entrepreneur,†Mike Tyson said. “He doesn’t really know the ins and outs of boxing. He probably knows what Floyd tells him, but once he gets in this arena, everyone that was ever his friend on the other side is [now] his enemy.â€
Hanzy, I've read the general attitude most have on here for Fif's type. But I tend to believe he's a smart businessman. I think if he sees this as a threat to lose big time, he'll pull out.
Yea man....had to live life and grow up a bit. Did 14 years in the Marine Corps, now working for a top 2 profit company in the U.S. Two daughters and another due any day now. Life is good. Currently sitting out here waiting to see what this hurricane is gonna do......
Thanks, man. Hurricane didn't do much here. Many areas still without power. Glad to be back on the board!
You think? I probably wouldn't consult him for life lessons, but I'd listen clearly when he speaks about boxing biz...
Listen to him talk about what? How to be stupid enough to be fleeced of one hundred million dollars by Don King??
I'm sure someone with as many years in the fight game, esp to have dealt with Don King, has more than that to offer. I understand you don't think highly of Mike Tyson, but I don't understand how you wouldn't think he'd have insight to the cold world of boxing. I know you've been in the business for a while. Would you have any advice for a novice? If so, more than say, a Mike Tyson would? I wouldn't think so.
If you ever met the guy, you'd know he was a KOOK for real. I'm not trying to be mean, but the guy is a coconut.
You questioning anyone's sanity is the most ridiculous nonsense I've ever heard GO SAY IT TO HIS FACE, GLADYS!!!! :wack: I hope you are struck by a bus
Floyd gets wind of these statement, he'll give Tyson a verbal tongue lashing. Floyd will likely come-off like an ass, as usual, and try to imply Mike wasn't ever really great like he is, and Mike didn't know how to manage money like he does. Stay classy Floyd.
I doubt Floyd would disrespect Tyson. Like Duran, Tyson is one of those legends that legit boxing guys will always respect. The only guy from the past Floyd has ever bagged on was SRL, who everyone considers a phony anyway.
I don't doubt Floyd would disrespect anyone that doesn't speak favorably him, he's just classless and I think he would lash out at anyone that doesn't kiss his ass. While I don't think SRL was legendary like some people do, I wouldn't call him a phony.
Really? I would figure his stature as a fighter would be inarguable... his comp was simply ridiculous His status as one of the most disingenuous assholes in sports has been well documented for years
