I watched the trailer and got very excited to watch this drama directed by David Cronenberg and starring two of my favorite actors: Michael Fassbender and Viggo Mortessen as Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud respectively. Aslo starring is Keira Knightley who was miscast here. Well, I finally watched the film and while Fassbender and Mortessen were marvelous, oh boy, if Ms Knightley has ever sucked as much as in she did here I don't know. She overacted so much particularly the first scenes were she is 'crazy'. Let me tell you this: I have worked in the psychiatric field for the last 26 years and I have never seen a psychotic patient doing all those twitching faces she was doing here. Besides Knightley sucking humongous balls, she also looked at her anorexic peak. The 'sex scenes' are plain hideous just because flat chested Knightley looks like a drag queen in those. Also the film moves at snail pace and keeps the debacle of the relationship between Freud & Jung very superficial while the emphasis is on the relationship between Jung and his patient Knightley. I was bored by this film and was truly disappointed at a wasted opportunity to deliver a great film which this premise had the potential of. 4/10
I finished watching it in the second night because my wife persuaded me to spend 'quality time' even though she agreed it was boring. Well, shortly before the end of the film I looked at my wife and she was sound asleep.:Steve-Dave/MMA:
