Ward is pound 4 pound number 1

    The weight was obviously an issue, otherwise why make the fight at 168, if "weights aren't an issue".

    Dawson has clearly been conducting recent business at 175 for some reason, his departure from 175 to 168 must have had an effect, by pure simple extension of basic logic.

    I would argue that the factors in his loss were

    1. His innate shortcomings as a fighter
    2. The weight
    3. Ward.

    And its not 3 factors in isolation, but a combination of them, a blend. Being mal-focused {which Dawson has always been} and drained doesn't really mean as much if you are fighting Joe Schmoe, and Ward is not Joe Schmoe. Take out the weight issue, replace Ward with Pascal and leave Dawson as Dawson and its a different fight. I think thats fair.

    Nobody done more in boxing than Ward,so I agree with the thread starter.Ward is the best in boxing right now....and for those who still think Floyd is the best? Do you honestly think he's done more than Ward? Floyd would of never competed in a tournament like that IJS

    I wouldn't care if the heavyweight champion of the world was called Ballsacklick Fuckyfuckistan as long as he was enjoyable to watch and there were some good fighters in his division... they could all be from fucking Neptune, for all I care

    He was in there with a highly flawed fighter in Dawson.

    Andre is a terrific young fighter, and there is not a whole lot out there on the boxinglandscape currently, so he can lay a claim to the best, yes.

    So what if he struggled with Cotto? Cotto is a fucking good fighter, and before that Floyd has barely lost a round in years.

    Floyd is better than Ward, pretty surprised anyone thinks otherwise.

    Ward is super solid, crafty etc, decent physical talent level, but I think Floyd is better in pretty much every way, even power.

    Floyd WAS better. There is no telling if he still is. You can only look at his last fight which was a much harder fight for him than anyone expected.
