"Major League" was VERY Good & is Still Rewatchable, but REED Can Say Likewise about Baseball Flicks Such as "A League of their Own" & "The Rookie", as Well...

I love 'Major League' - but I also think 'Bull Durham' just edges it.

Kevin Costner knows baseball. Made two great baseball movies (Bull Durham, Field of Dreams), and one decent one (For The Love of the Game) that had perhaps the best scenes of baseball in any movie but was dragged down by the non-baseball aspects of the film.

That said, I'd probably rank "Eight Men Out" as my favorite baseball film.

btw, for a Kids baseball movie, The Sandlot has to be the best.

They really need to re-cut that movie and just get rid of the Mark McGwire angle.

Funny, if anybody needs an asterisk next to their record, it's all the guys who actually passed Maris in the record book.

Solid movie otherwise. Barry Pepper and Thomas Jane were both damn good in it.

Yup, that's a good one to, though I'd probably take "Bad New Bears" over it for kids movie.

I don't see why not. Just because it wasn't all warm and cuddly, doesn't mean kids didn't identify with it.

Like "A Christmas Story", it proves you don't have to talk down to kids, for a movie to be a kids movie.

I dont know. The Curse Words (F-word), the racisim, the drunk coach. I think this movie could be rated R by today's standards.

Bad News Bears TOES the "Kids Flick" Line for Sure...

The Sequels were DEFINITELY Kids Flicks, but the Original is a Movie that REED "Got" Later in Life...As a Child, REED NEVER Picked Up on Buttermaker Being an Alcoholic OR just How Funny a Team Sponsored by Chico's Bails Bonds REALLY Was...Tanner was FUNNY, as was Ahmad's MILITANT Stance, but it Wasn't Until REED was in his 20's, that he Really GOT the Dialogue Overall.....
