    I read the synopsis on IMDB and was totally underwhelmed. I have no intention of seeing it.

    By the way the reason Phoenix is such a good actor is because he's batshit crazy. You can actually see it in his performances.

    Don't get me wrong, both Phoenix and Seymour Hoffman did brilliant acting jobs, as they always do. The movie was just underwhelming, and the ending was horrible. It had the potential to be SO much better. I had high hopes for it being on the same tier as There Will Be Blood, but it came nowhere near.
