Acclaimed Game of Thrones director, Alan Taylor replaces Kenneth Brannagh in this sequel. This news really got me excited since Taylor did an amazing job in GOT. There is a persistent rumour that this film will showcase the Nine Realms from the comicbook lore: Jotunheim, Svartalheim, Alfeim, Hel, Muspelheim, Nidavellir and Vanaheim, Asgard and Earth, of course. Add to the cast Jaimie Alexander returning as Sif (who in the present comicbooks is Thor's main squeeze with Jamie Foster merely a friendly ex). Here is hoping they leave Natalie Portman out this time or gets dumped. Anyway this film will rock. November 8, 2013 is the release date.

 

In Norse mythology, the Nine Realms are interconnected through Yggdrasil, the world tree. This is the importance of the "tree" that Thor draws, it's how the Asgardians view the structure of the universe.

In Marvel canon, the Nine Realms are:

• Alfheim
  Home of the Light Elves (Ljósálfar). Alfheim is a distinct region on the Asgard planetoid.
• Asgard
  Home of the Asgardians. Asgard is the name of the planetoid, a distinct region on the planetoid and its capital city.
• Hel
  Realm of the dead who are neither honored nor dishonored. It is ruled by Hela.
• Jotunheim
  Home of the Giants (Jötunn).
• Midgard
  Midgard is the Earthly plane of existence. Although technically not a part of the Asgardian dimension, it is considered one of the Nine Worlds by the Asgardians because of its significant connections to Asgard.
• Muspelheim
  Home of the Demons. It is ruled by Surtur.
• Nidavellir
  Home of the Dwarves. Nidavellir is a distinct region on the Asgard planetoid.
• Svartalfheim
  Home of the Dark Elves (Svartálfar).
• Vanaheim
  Home of the Vanir who are the sister race of the Asgardians. Vanaheim is a distinct region on the Asgard planetoid.

There are also two "regions" outside the Nine Realms:

• Niffleheim
  Realm of the dishonored dead which is distinct but closely connected to Hel.
• Valhalla
  Realm of the honored dead and is a distinct region on the Asgard planetoid

Can't say I'm really looking forward to this. Much like the comic book back in the day, Thor just doesn't do it for me.

I too want to see a FLASH movie. However his previous incarnation on tv, even though well made, failed miserably to attract an audience. So in Hollywood execs suits minds is a great risk to give this character another chance. He was last seen in The Big Bang Theory as a joke.

I don't get you guy's desire to want a Flash film. That sounds like a waste to me. I'd actually rather sit through the Thor sequel. What kind of entertainment can you expect from a guy who runs fast? How would he even have an exciting fight against a super-villain, by running away? You guys should just watch a Usain Bolt documentary or something.

 

Flash is as uninteresting as Aquaman. Honestly, apart from Batman, DC's characters are cheesy as fuck, and that includes superman.

To be fair The Flash has been around since 1940. He has a following. If not, this character would have been shelved a long time ago. But if well done, a Flash movie could be very entertaining. I agree about Aquaman, but I also want to see Namor The submariner in a movie because his story is more appealing than Aquaman's.
