Dana needs to really re-think his position on this one. I can understand him being pissed about a fighter refusing a change of opponents, but there is nothing shameful about a guy like Kongo not wanting to take a fight on 3 weeks notice.

And Dana further increases his asshole quotent by claiming only guys that it is typically guys that are worried about losing that refuse to take fights on short notice. That's ridiculous. Every fighter is worried about losing.

This is Kongo's career. He absolutely needs to be ready to fight before stepping in the cage. If he lost because he only had 3 weeks to prepare, it's still a lose on his record and moves him one step closer to being cut by the UFC.

I think dana is getting frustrated that he cant find a fight for this guy. What he needs to do is just give him the winner of Cain vs. Dos Santos. And give him some scrub to keep him busy.

I think a lot of these fighters would take these fights if UFC weren't so cut happy after a fighter loses 2-3 in a row.

I 100% agree with you. Dana is so disliked by fighters in the UFC for exactly this. Questioning a guys heart for not taking a fight on 3 weeks notice. Ridiculous. If he wants to fill this fight, offer it to a HW with like 1 fight in the UFC, he will jump at it. A guy like Kongo is trying to make a couple more paydays before he's done. You want Kongo to fight, pay him some real cash, guarantee he gets in the cage.

Absolutely agree. He's not a marquee name, but it's not the right way to treat a solid, long time UFC fighter like Cheick.

Incidentally did you know Cheick is 37? I guess he has been around for a while, but I thought he was a fair bit younger than that.

Yeah man, Cheick is a long time pro. This guy has fought the best, no questions asked. Dana is pathetic to call this dude out for this. He's a pussy is what he is.

The Way Dana White TALKS, U'd Think he's a Fighter that Fought ANYBODY, ANYWHERE, ANYTIME Back in his Day...He should just Step up HIMSELF to Fill these Vacancies, Since he's Apparently a Badass:wack:...

Reed hit the nail on the head as far as I'm concerned. I've never slammed the UFC for what they pay their fighters. However, when the UFC spreads themselves too thin by having far too many events, how the fuck can they try to fill these cards by asking fighters to risk their careers and their health?

If Zuffa wasn't trying to fill FX, FOX, Fuel and PPV cards (and previously Strikeforce) they could have deeper cards that could survive injuries.

But to publicly shame fighters for not risking their own careers and health just to allow the UFC to continue holding cards beyond their depth, is reprehensible in my opinion.
