That is old news. He catch AIDS sharing needles. He turned christian in prison. Duran's visit got extensive coverage on the media in Puerto Rico and the picture of him hugging DeJesus in his deathbed made the front cover of newspapers since at that time people were scared to touch people suffering with AIDS. Duran won the hearts of all puertoricans with that kind gesture to DeJesus.

Definitely top 20. Steven was a heroin junkie and he contracted the virus in the slam from dirty needles. He was high when he murdered that kid in Puerto Rico over a minor fender bender as well. Not a nice guy out of the ring, but IMO he should be in the IBHOF as he had tremendous ability and was very strong as well. He just didn't outbox Duran, he really beat him up and overpowered him in the Garden.
