The only movie this director made prior was Tron Legacy, which was not that good, but was a Gorgeous looking movie. That being said, he did not write Tron Legacy and given what he had to work with, it came out better than i thought. This director Joe Kosinski has a gift with the camera. He just gets gorgeous shots.
Earth is a memory worth fighting for? In the trailer earth looks the same.It is mankind's civilization the faded memory since there are still people there. Looks intriguing and the sets/costumes/special effects looks gorgeous.
The point of the movie is that they thought all the earthlings were evacuated and nobody lived there anymore. So yeah, it makes sense. They didnt know there was still people there.
I did get the plot point: it is right there in the trailer. What I am talking about is the tagline in the poster. Earth is not a memory. It is intact. If this was a radioactive devastated wasteland earth, then it will make sense, but from the very 'A.I' like images, it doesn't.
But if nobody lives on earth and everyone has been evacuated to another planet, wouldnt that make earth a memory? Since they dont live there anymore?
We will have to wait and watch the movie. Why was earth evacuated if, according to the trailer, earthlings won the war against the alien invasion? Yep he says half of earth was destroyed, but what we see destroyed are buildings, not nature or maybe he is just on the side of the planet that is not contaminated?
