For me, the worst part about PEDs is when it gives one fighter (the one juicing) an unfair advantage over the other (the one playing by the rules). However, in today's day and age, there's good reason to believe that both fighters in a top echelon fight are on something. Does this lessen the crime in your view? And make PEDs a more acceptable part of the game? Fundamentally, it's a question of where you draw the line between what's acceptable and what isn't, as far as the lengths to which a fighter will go to tune and prepare his body for combat. Are some PEDs worse than others in your view?
Sure there's Relief...If BOTH Guys are Cheating, it's Almost as if NEITHER of them are Cheating...The Playing Field is LEVEL... REED:hammert:
Don't kid yourself. The playing field is not level. The top fighters will always get the best shit. The "opponents" will get the left-overs. Or worse, they'll get busted like Tarver was.
exactly... and this is a sport where you sustain traumatic damage, win or lose... in team sports, there might be enough really good clean guys to make up for the few who are juicing (assuming we are talking about a team sport where it is reasonably clean) ... in boxing, your brain is getting is smashed around in your skull... the effect of a handful of guys cheating can be monumental and a matter of life and death
AgREED. But in general, the status quo favors the top guys since they presumably have access to the best shit while the rest if they can get any at all will have to settle for old-school shit that could show up on a test or not work as well. In theory, if the things were not outlawed, the price would come down, and the top guys would not enjoy an advantage in that sense.
Well we can add Marquez now to the list of fighters who are on the juice. Still waiting for the likes of Khan and Ortiz to get busted.
I'm starting to think they shouldn't even test for PED anymore. Angel Herrera ( Marquez PED provider ) makes a very good point that drug testing as it is now only benefits the stars as they have the money to access undectable PED's
I would prefer a clean sport and I am very suspicious of Marquez's new ripped 28 year old body. However, IMO it had nothing to do with the KO.
Every single measurable attribute of a fighter can be improved with PEDs, and many immeasurable ones. You shouldn't give any benefit of the doubt to a cheating piece of shit. The sanctioning bodies need to step up and clean up the sport because the commissions, the fighters, the promoters, and the fans are doing fuckall. And apparently some fans are willing to give up like bitches and turn boxing into an unnatural farce.
True but i like the idea of the Mayweather and Suliamin combined. It's like two titanic forces of goodness using their powers to combat evil. Kind of like The Avengers.
