Exactly, you can't like everyone. Even if the reason is somewhat irrational. For example I absolutely loathe Tszyu, I can't stand his ugly, greasy little mongle face and disgusting rat tail. Though now I think about, it's quite rational. I think liking Tszyu is irrational :kidcool: But with Rory, it's not even his face that bothers me tbh, it's more his deadpan, too cool for school act. Seems very contrived, just as much as the tatooed, painted finger nail, died hair chodes you're talking about. You can only get away with that deadpan act if you're a Yakuza, or have an extreme level of inherent coolness :kidcool:
I completely agree. But with Fedor, it wasn't like "I'm cool, look at me" Fedor reminded me of a plumber or some shit like that, just going to work. It was just a job. You were completely insignificant to him as an opponent. It was just a job he had to do. I still remember watching Fedor for the first time. He was fighting Heath Herring. I was like in awe of him. He was the coolest fighter I'd ever seen. I was an instant fan. I wish some of these new school mma fans could know Fedor from Pride. It was a treat to watch his career.
The proof that it was a natural thing with Fedor is because the expression never really changed. Whether he was getting slammed by Randleman, cracked on the chin by Fujita or tapped our by Werdum, his facial expression barely changed. It's one of the reasons he had such great stamina. He really did have nerves of steel. The dude probably never experienced an adrenaline rush in his entire career.
