Classic....indeed....... I use to fucking LOVE Judie Aronson....Weird Science...Friday The 13th part 4...American Ninja....:hump:
I disagree. This was just a so-so film that was loved by horny teen boys in the 80's since it was a teenager's wet dream. Not among John Hughes best films. Take Kelly LeBrock sexy ass out of the film and all you have left is a not-so-funny film that also fails in the scifi department. I can call "Back To The Future" a classic. This one is not.
i watched it again half a year ago and it's not as good as i remember...Bill Paxton is the best thing about it one of those movies that is cool as a kid and shit as an adult however, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is still awesome if you watch it right now <iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/7_6KMGB_Pkw" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" width="420"></iframe>
Disagree with your disagreement. Normally you're spot on with your reviews but I couldn't disagree with you more on this film. I saw this at the theater and many many times after and I've loved it from the first viewing and I could even sit through it today. Totally great comedy although the justification given for their "creation" not having large breasts had to be the most nonbelievable thing in the film, which is saying a lot. If anything Kelly LeBrock shouldn't have received the part just because of her itty bittys. I also disagree that LeBrock made that film. I thought every single actor did well in that film and LeBrock was no better or worse then any of the major players. About the only thing about her that stood out was her accent. Sure she was hot, but there were numerous other hot actresses who could have pulled it off, and although in the real world you'd easily trade boobs for an English accent, in the film world it worked out better the other way. Maybe you're one of those guys who thinks having hot women on screen is actually entertainment, and that distracted you from enjoying the film. In film I might notice a women is hot but I would never become distracted by it and raise a films point total based on the women being hot with the one exception being Lost in Translation.
Well, I disagree with your disagreement of my disagreement. :: I didn't say that Kelly LeBrock made the film, in fact she was never that good at acting anyway to which her short movie career can testify of that, but her sexy character was the main object of the film. My point is that the movie wasn't funny enough nor its scifi elements cool enough to elevate this film to classic status. The two boys were unmemorable. It was a couple of good scenes, but falls flat on its face for the most part. This film is as disposable as other 80's teen comedies which went nowhere like 18 Again or Zapped!
