Everytime I see a fighter with fancy new apparel they get the shit kicked out of them, strange.

not sure why I picked JDS , if you look at the other thread I actually said Cain will beat him. I think I was swayed by everyone here picking JDS by easy win. I also thought Belcher would have too much for Okami, but Okami is damn solid. Never seen Phillipou but have heard a lot about him, so I thought if he was as good as people say he should get by Boetsch. The other picks I just copied you, yeah.

Please, Overreem was tired by watching a guy flop in front of him. At least JDS was tired from fighting off take downs. You won't find any HW alive that could attempt as many takedowns as Cain did and still be wrestling in round 5.

It was the first fight in Cain's career where we got to see evidence of the Cardio Cain talked about in the gym.

And if you replace JDS with Overeem in last night's fight, it's over in the first. JDS doesn't have an ounce of quit in him. Overeem is about 255 lbs of quit.

Belcher was an idiot. 3 times he had top position and gave it up by trying guilliotine chokes. He beat himself.

When I was watching those lame takedown attempts in the first round by Cain, I thought he was desperate. But it was actually a great strategy. He made JDS work his ass off and forced a pace that JDS couldn't maintain.

I've watch a ton of boxing and MMA over the years. I honestly think Lauzon lost more blood than any other fighter I've ever seen. Lauzon took a brutal beatdown from a very motivated Jim Miller but was still trying to win even in the very last seconds of the fight. You can't help but like both those guys.

I think Belcher was the biggest disappointment of the night. Like Trp said, he had Okami's back 3 times and did fuck all with it. Good reply to JOM's post too, Trp. Last night was a 5 round war. Constant action. Overeem/Werdum was horrible. I remember a 30 second to 1 minute stretch with Overeem with his mouth open and hands on his hips, Werdum on the canvas in his guard and the ref actually had to force them to engage. lol

I'm right there with you man. I normally think Rogan is a moron. But he actually was 100% correct on how much blood Joe Lauzon was losing. I remember a moment when Miller had him on the ground, the blood was actually puddling behind Joe's head. Don't get me wrong, from a pure spectator point, I loved that the fight wasn't stopped. But seriously, I can't believe the doctor didn't stop this fight.

Agreed, as Miller locked in that headlock the amount of blood coming from Lauzons head doubled. To me that looked really dangerous. I wasn't sure watching the fight but can the Doctor step in and stop the fight?

great question. I think only the referee can stop the fight. But the ref is supposed to call the doctor in to see if the fight should be stopped. I think he did it once in the 1st round. Have to rewatch it, I'm not sure on that.

Cain winning must have made guys like Mir,Nelson,Carwin and even Struve pretty damn happy. They weren't getting rematches for the title against JDS anytime soon but now that Cain is champ those are all potentially attractive match ups. They're fresh and a lot more marketable than rematches of fights where one guy already kicked the other guy's ass (See GSP vs Koscheck II) If Cain beats Overeem I think we see Cain vs JDS III in the fall 2013 (in the mean time I expect JDS to beat somebody like Kongo)

I agree, I will bet you Dana was jacked. And don't be surpised to see Cain get 2 and maybe even 3 fights against those formentioned guys you pointed out before the rematch. Dana will try and milk a few ppv's bet your paycheck on it. Watch.

Overeem vs Cain is a much better fight than JDS vs Overeem imo, since Cain mauling griding style will trouble Overeem a lot more

When I think about it I think I agree with you. They will probably milk some fights between they give JDS his rematch.

It's funny but everyone is assuming Overeem gets by Bigfoot. He should, but I wouldn't consider it a foregone conclusion.

I agree. I would pick Overeem of course. But Bigfoot is a game vet with great ground work. I think Overeem will win. But Bigfoot isn't an easy out

Obviously, I'm just assuming. But knowing Dana's track record lol, and hell, if we get JDS/Overeem next I'm still jacked about that fight regardless if there isn't a belt on the line.

I agree REED. Roy would make a fun PPV though. Dana is so ego driven he can't see it.

I strongly disagree, I'm pretty sure White ''beef'' with Nelso is fabricated made for tv bullshit. He would never have given him a spot as a coach on TUF otherwise. Nor would he had been given so many opportunities

That is a potential weakness in the rules. It was mid round and Miller was literally squeezing the blood from his head.
