Not me. Floyd is a talent, no questions there but he doesn't excite like pacquaio did back in the day. Most fights air in the early hours over here. floyd is the type of guy I would DVR. I want to see it but ill get some sleep in. I'll sit up and wait for PAC to enter the ring....maybe not so much these days ::
Pacquiao just trashed bigger and stronger opponents. An example is the Delahoya fight. He absolutely destroyed him and sent him to retirement.
Hoya was beyond done by the time Pacquiao fought him This is what boxing has come to... we have guys in here getting voted fighter of the decade for wins against notable corpses
EMOTION Should Be Left OUT of a Designation as PRESTIGIOUS as "Fighter of the Decade", in REED's Opinion....The FACT that Pacquiao was More "Exciting" than Floyd (which is UNDENIABLE), Also Made him More VULNERABLE than Floyd... Vulnerability can Lead to DEFEAT, as Pacquiao PAINFULLY Learned, in his Last Outing... These Days, REED is Sooooo DISenchanted w/Floyd, it Actually Hurts to Acknowledge the TRUTH, Which is, Floyd was the "Fighter of the Decade" from 2000-2010... REED:hammert:
I guess it comes down to what you want in your 'fighter of the decade' its a bit like picking l4l kings, everyone as their own idea
IMO, it's not even debatable. Marquez, Morales, Barrera, ODLH ( sure he was past his prime but wasn't nearly shot imo ), Hatton, Cotto and a slew of other good opponents trash anything anyone else did.
Floyd had the beating of every notable fighter at 135, 140 and 147 over the tenure of his career. Probably 130 too.
well it's obviously going to be Pac or Floyd i'll give it to Pac for the better resume...don't see how relevant it is who the more exciting fighter is
Pac is the clear choice. PBF is a gamer. Pac games the system, too, but not to the same extent. PBF's whole career since leaving 135 has been games.
I can't give it to Floyd becuase there's too many good fighters he didn't fought. Even at 130 lbs he didn't fought Cassamayor and Freitas. Sure, I understand that a top fighter can't fight everyone, but Floyd just pushed it to another level
Pacquiao...easily...but Mayweather is still a close 2nd had he fought a few fighters like Margarito/Williams in 2007-2009..and fough earlier version of Cotto and Mosley(135) then it would have been Mayweather. But Pacquiao resume in the last 5 years is too deep, with too many names, even if some of them were past their best....or catchweight...
Yeah because Pacquiao puts on an act of being this humble, likable guy and Floyd Mayweather is an outrageously unlikable cunt objectively examined, Pac is guilty of the same "gaming" as Floyd, possibly more
On that Note, Anyone AFTER Cotto DOESN'T Count for Pac....Anyone AFTER Marquez DOESN'T Count for Floyd.... REED:hammert:
Hey you're winning the poll so the majority agrees with you. I still voted Floyd. He didn't lose during this decade, Pacquiao did. It's not as if Pacquiao beat anyone that Floyd lost to. If you are basing this off of excitement then I'll vote for Pac also, but it's who the best boxer is and Floyd never lost the distinction of the being the best in the world, imo.
Cotto Hatton De La Hoya Marquez X3 Barrera X2 Morales X3 Ledwaba All through multiple weight classes.
Augustus Corrales Chavez Castillo (2x) Corley (Went it MEANT Something) Gatti Sharmba Judah Dela Hatton Marquez 130-147... REED:dunno:
