The final Strikeforce card or auditions to earn a spot in the UFC. Most of the top fighters on the Strikeforce roster in action. Main card (Showtime) Welterweight Championship bout: Nate Marquardt (c) vs. Tarec Saffiedine Heavyweight bout: Daniel Cormier vs. Dion Staring Heavyweight bout: Josh Barnett vs. Nandor Guelmino Light Heavyweight bout: Gegard Mousasi vs. Mike Kyle Catchweight (194lbs) bout: Ed Herman vs. Ronaldo Souza [h=3]Preliminary card (Showtime Extreme)[/h] Lightweight bout: Pat Healy vs. Kurt Holobaugh Middleweight bout: Roger Gracie vs. Anthony Smith Middleweight bout: Tim Kennedy vs. Trevor Smith Lightweight bout: Ryan Couture vs. K.J. Noons
Been watching both this and the game. Noons got robbed. Jacare just brutalized Herman and had to do some damage to his arm. TFK
barnett's still a serviceable heavyweight. if ufc doesn't sign him, then he should go to bellator. their heavyweights suck and he should be favored to win a belt there.
Barnett can probably make a lot more money splitting time as a can crusher\pro wrestler in Japan. TFK
cormier's never been the type to knock guys out in a spectacular fashion. he did it on one occasion vs. bigfoot. he usually grinds his opponents down with takedowns.
Ya that's true but his opponent was very limited and not only did he scramble up from Cormier's take downs , it seemed Cormier couldn't really finish him or do much with him on the ground . I'm just saying that I'm saying because I know Cormier is better than that.
Nothing much was expected from this card. All of the main card fights were mismatches on paper and all went exactly as expected aside from Marquardt-Saffiedine. The card just confirmed that Barnett, Souza, Cormier and Moussasi should all move over to the UFC and be competitive. And I think Cormier confirmed his planned move down to 205 when he said he would be kicking Jon Jones ass in the fall. It was cool to hear him say it, but he needs to win a fight at 205 to establish himself before taking on Jones. An April fight with Frank Mir is pointless if the plan is to move down to 205. I'd love to see the "All-Juice Bowl" between Barnett and Overeem with the winner and loser leaving MMA for good.
