no one seems to be talking about his matchup here. one of the best in a while. how will garcia react to the nonstop pressure and haymakers of a fully juiced Salido?
seems likely that Garcia will eventually knock Salido out. Salido is tough and aggressive, but he won't be impervious to Garcia's sharp and well-timed counters. I expect Salido to win some rounds and make Garcia look vulnerable at times, but to ultimately be hurt.
garcia is skilled and patient, but Ive yet to see him hit. this is his first test and we'll see how what his durability is like.
It seems to me that it's a bit too much too soon for Garcia...Salido is going to take him to hell and back...we will see if the kid is for real.
Yup didn't like hearing that at all. But at least he's from a fighting family so it's less likely he's a bitch
CLEARLY, Salido's More PROVEN Here...Garcia's Shown TALENT & has the Familial PEDIGREE, but Until he BEATS a PROVEN Guy, it's Hard to PICK him Over a Proven Guy... REED:dunno:
Pretty much how I feel. This is usually how I feel in general, unless the unproven guy in question just looks like an absolute beast.
Garcia is going to look like Jerry Garcia after this...he will wake up singing "every silver linings got a ...touch of grey...."
Well when you are not being hit back...it's all good....but once you start getting hit..OR..are landing BOMBS and the other guy keep coming and hitting you back..that is when a fighter has to prove he really wants it. And is not just in it because of family pressure or whatnot..
Oscar DeLa Hoya never really wanted to be a boxer, but still won many belts, beat many top guys and is a sure Hall Famer. Garcia might not love the sport, just like Cotto, but if he knows this is his bread winner, he'll go for it regardless. I'll be rooting for Garcia via stoppage. Easier fight for him than what you guys think.
31 Wins, 28 KO's & Other than Salido, NOBODY's Been Able to Exploit JuanMa's Defense Enough to DEFEAT him... REED:nono:
My only point is that I'm surprised so many expect Salido to win. If you compare Garcia at this stage in his career to Juanma, going into the first Salido fight, there's no similarities. Juanma had already shown himself to be vulnerable, careless, and having a very suspect defense. Garcia, on the other hand, has shown smarts, counter-punching ability, patience and brilliant timing. I'm just surprised so many are picking Salido based on the fact he beat Juanma.
In the other hand Juanma had already face a few top fighters....while Garcia is jumping right into it..after fighting mostly shit fighters.
This fight's going to be good. It should be a coming out party of sorts for Garcia, even though he's been on TV quite a bit. This will be his first big win and I expect people to be impressed.
Garcia by either UD, or late stoppage is the safest pick here. And of course on the undercard, GGG will execute Rosado pretty quickly.
Why hasn't there been more discussion of this fight? Salido was tailor-made for Garcia, but Garcia still impressed.
