Good fight. If Bisping wins I expect him to face Silva in May (Should be in England which would be huge)
I hope your right. If Bisping wins he absolutely deserves the next shot at Silva. If for no other reason than the fact that Bisping is one of the hardest working dudes in the sport. He rubs some people the wrong way including me early on, but I've grown to respect his work ethic and non-cry baby attitude. He blames no one but himself for not getting a title shot yet. He steps up and fights anyone the UFC puts in front of him even if it's an opponent that doesn't help him jump in the rankings. The one thing I'd be willing to bet the house on is Belfort failing a drug test if he gets tested at this event. Remember you heard it here first. On the undercard, my boy Andrew Craig faces Ronny Markes in a battle of prospects. My FOTN pick.
wow bisping got rocked. I feel bad for bisping. He was working so hard only to get derailed by an guy with no future. BTW, vitor looks like he is on something.
that was the henderson fight all over again. bisping fights in retreat mode against dangerous hitters and belfort knew right off the bat that bisping was scared. disappointing performance by bisping. i figured he'd win.
Bisping is an average fighter. Every time he fights anyone even near an elite level he gets his ass beat. He is all bark and no bite. The only reason he has got the fights he has is because the UFC spoon feeds him every opportunity they can to get him a title shot. Funny thing is he falls flat on his face every time.
Bisping will never get over the "hump". When it's all said & done, all we'll remember is the image of Hendo pushing his brains through the mat.
UFC must be disappointed . Belfort winning isn't good for anyone. He already challenged and lost to both the 185 and 205 champ in the last 2 years so I don't see him getting a rematch with either any time soon. If Bisping won his fight with Anderson down in England would have been huge.
The main problem with Bisping is that he can't bust a grape with his punching power. Vitor, much like Henderson and Wanderlai, didn't have to worry about anything coming back from Bisping. Sure Bisping will throw a ton of punches and works a good jab, but he has zero power. Vitor was able to stand in the pocket and wing big punches and big kicks without fear of anything dangerous from Bisping. I guess Anderson Silva's calendar is now empty until GSP get by Nick Diaz. Or maybe the UFC will go nuts and give Jacare or Cung Le a shot while Weidman gets healthy.
Not only ripped but he was unusually hyper before and after the fight. And because the fight was in Brazil I don't think he will be busted I am pretty sure his people gave a couple donkeys to this official a couple of donkeys to some other guy , a couple of rooster to some other guy and everything will turn up clean.
Who's not to say then the official didn't get presented some fine ass Brazilian women to look the other way ?
Especially in Pride, everybody was clean, there were no fixed fights and they certainly never bent the rules to favor certain fighters. Looking back at some old Pride fights, it was a joke.
Forgot about Rashad Evans as a possible summer opponent for Anderson Silva. I think I'd pick Evans if he can get down to the weight without issue.
Evans would give him more trouble than anyone has recently (Chael included---the first fight was a fluke, in my opinion), but I don't know if I would PICK Evans unless I had great odds and didn't mind losing the money.
I'd pick Andy at 205, but Evans would do better than most. At 185 it would be a blowout in favour of Silva. Can't see Evans having the necessary strength to compete with Silva after losing an extra 20 pounds.
The is the same guy that got outclassed by Machida who isnt even close to Anderson in Striking and speed.
Holy shit was he juiced. I have put up with naysayers and glory day idiots for 15 years on the internet without losing my love of the fighting sports, but this PED nonsense is starting to affect me.
I just like Rashad being able to use his wrestling to dictate where the fight happens. Silva might be the greatest fighter on the planet but he was only ably to stop less than 10% of Sonnen's takedown attempts. And like it or not, Silva just doesn't have a depth of experience against good wrestlers. Obviously the question is what will Rashad lose by dropping down to 185. If Rashad doesn't kill himself making 185, he's a tough out for anyone. The guy has a great, mixed set of skills, which includes knockout power and Anderson's Achille's heal, great wrestling. Rashad's chin isn't questionable, it's flat out weak. But since the Machida fight he has game planned much better and avoided being strictly a boxer. And the dude is incredibly smart. But personal it's simple for me. I will give any great wrestler a shot against Anderson Silva. And a wrestler with good striking, like Rashad, has even a better chance.
True, but he's also fought the best of the best at 205 and has been stopped exactly 1 time. That's 15 UFC fights and he's been stopped once. There aren't many UFC fighters that can say that after 15 fights in the organization.
