So, a co-worker of mine just won tickets to the traveling Mike Tyson show in April here in South Florida. He asked me shortly after finding out he won the prize if I'd like to go & I can't resist due to pure curiosity. Question is: Have any of you guys seen Mike's performance either live or viewed clips online, and if so, should I prepare for the train wreck I imagine it to be? I've become a little psyched to see this thing & my man Mike has got to have some revealing shit to share, if he chooses to do so. I obviously would love for a heckler to bring out a rant from Mike that ends in "All praise be to Al-lah!", but our current version of Mike has morphed into the loveable has-been & doesn't really have it in him anymore. Being a thirty-something Mike Tyson fan, I've been able to view & idolize him through the eyes of a child, both love & hate him as he became an overhyped dick as a teen, then revert back to being a Tyson apologist as an adult. For me, he's been one of those polarizing athletes I'll surely never forget...I just hope I'm not witnessing something that will bum me out. Either way I'll burn a J, get on the sauce & probably have to ask my buddy about half of the shot that was said.
I hear it's pretty entertaining. Friend of mine went in NYC a few months back. Didn't really get into details, but I'd love to check it out.
Cool...I hope he's candid for the most part. For me, the show has to be on either side of the entertainment spectrum. To leave there satisfied he will either need to 1.) Just plain kill it with great stories & some comedy or 2.) Just fucking completely bomb & go Andy Kaufman playing the Mighty Mouse theme song for the duration of the show.
