Of course Ward would lose. He lacks the punching power and sharpness of Jones (and the power of Toney), which is what kept Ruiz from rushing in. Also, as you said, Ward's game is based much on his work inside and that would be out of question against a guy this much bigger. Stinky style can be effective as Ruiz proved numerous times

Better than Ward (based on his skin color and nationality) but I don't think he'd win either. He might take the early rounds with his quickness but he wouldn't be able to hold Ruiz off all night

Neither Ward or Calzaghe would do very well at HW. They both lack power.

Calzaghe vs prime Tyson might be an interesting style mesh tho.

I think he might take a longer, more severe beating from Joe Frazier... I'd like to see that.

:laugh11: at Ward beating Ruiz at heavyweight. Yeah, I'd love to see Ward doing his usual grinding inside routine Vs a fucking heavyweight. He'd get mauled by Ruiz.

Ward looked average earlier in his career when he tried to be more of a Roy imitator, he only found success when he started fighting like Hopkins. Not really the best tactic Vs a heavyweight.

Calzaghe or Ward wouldn't last a round with Joe Frazier... one hook and it is over

Ward can fight in multiple ways. Ruiz in one.

Calzaghe is hard to project at heavy, just like he was hard to project at supermid, but he is better than guys like Toney, Tarver, Eubank, and Guillermo Jones and they all did fine when they stepped up in weight. Although they fought nothing alike at 168-175, it's not hard to see any talented lefty doing what Moorer was able to do at heavy.
